The Top Five New Years Resolution for 2012: Define Priorities

In order to examine your priorities as a Christian, the first step is to make an assessment of your relationship to the world. Do you love the world?

Crucifixión

If after examination it turns out that your answer  is “yes,” then the love of the Father is not IN you.  In other words, you are not born again.  In  order to fully understand how to be crucified to the world, the terms need to be defined.

First of all, the world is not the earth.  The world is an invisible group of “systems” that the enemy of our souls is still the god of.  So in simple terms, if Jesus Christ of Nazareth is not Lord over a particular system, that system is a part of THE WORLD.  Put another way, if Christ is not the head of it, it is “the world.”  That includes people, places and things.  For example, if Christ is not the head of your family, then your family is “THE WORLD.”  If Christ is not the head of your school, then your school is “THE WORLD.” If Christ is not the head of your career, your sport, whatever, it is THE WORLD. If Christ is not the head of your church, SHE IS THE  ALL religious systems are a part of THE WORLD, if Jesus Christ of Nazareth is not the head of them.

Some have left the world, even the church world, but like Lot’s wife, the cross has not separated them from the longing that remains in their hearts for the world. So I warn everyone who has an ear to hear and an eye to see.  There is a religious world in our times  which is far more dangerous tha other systems that are obviously evil and a part of Satan’s domain. This religious world consists of professing Christians who deny the cross and the resurrection of Jesus Christ in more ways than one.

You see the cross symbolizes deliverance from this present evil age (Gal 1:4),—from the powers of darkness (Col 1:13)—from the devils and demons who rule the world under their leader, Satan–(Eph 6:12) and—-on the resurrection side of the cross—WE ARE TRANSLATED INTO THE KINGDOM OF THE SON OF GOD! When we plead the blood, we are telling the enemy that we are dead to his world, that he no longer has authority over us, that we walk in that same power that raised Jesus from the dead.

Yet–if we look back—Satan treats us as if we were “Lot’s wife.” The cross and the resurrection loses its victory in our lives.  If the world STILL has the power to attract us or to influence our spiritual walk, then we are not crucified.  If we are not crucified, then we are open and vulnerable to demonic attacks and the fate of Lot’s wife can be OUR fate.

We arrive on the resurrection side of the cross only AFTER we have been crucified to the world.  No crucifixion? No power to defeat the enemy. For we overcome Satan by the blood of the Lamb! Pleading the blood is of no consequence to demons if the one who stands as a deliverer of captives is not crucified to the world.

Recovery In Christ is a spiritual growth book with a manual. To be crucified to the world is one of a major themes of the book.

The Top Five New Years Resolutions for 2012: Learn The Fear of the Lord

I may shock you with this statement but I believe that the various life testimonies of biblical figures support my belief that those who are the hardest of heart are among those who call themselves “God’s People.” How many of you have heard a corrective message of reproof yet you continually sin and “do what you do?” Churchgoers who sit under a corrupt pastor—a man or woman who avoids presenting a hard word–don’t necessarily have a hard heart.  They have a dull, deceived heart.  If they were to “come out from among them,” there is hope for them. My book “Come Out of Her God’s People” includes my personal testimony of how I overcame 25 years of religious deception. In fact, God used a book, “War On the Saints,” to un-deceive me.  Yet those who are incurable are those who have been reproved by a pure, un-compromising word, and they STILL continue to sin. No one can stir their hearts because of their continual disobedience.

Dear reader, allow me to give you a test. How many times has the Holy Spirit pricked your conscience about fornication and refraining from the appearance of evil, yet you have continued to live according to the world’s standards where sex is concerned? Perhaps you have rationalized that as long as you have not been “penetrated,” that anal and oral sex is not fornication. How many warnings have you heard about harboring a secret sin and the benefits of confession to believers, yet you continue to pretend before the brethren that your life is clean and pure? What you need to know is that to enter into the secret place of God where you abide under His shadow of protection, you need to obey His word.

From the pulpits in these times, most messages you will hear are about love and they will be emotional. The truth is that God defines our love for Him by our obedience, without the usual excuses.  Simply put, if you cultivate “the fear of the Lord,” you WILL obey His every command, and in so doing, you will demonstrate to Him and most of all to yourself, how much you truly love Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Without the fear of the Lord, we are on a merry-go-round of sin, confession, forgiveness received, sin, rededication, over and over again. If you are in this vicious cycle, stop lying to yourself and others when you boast “I’m blessed!”  You are not blessed.  In fact, you are a curse about to happen!

Look around you.  The fear of the Lord can be taught by the calamities that are reported in the media. The problem is that any Christian who habitually lives and walks in sin cannot hear or discern the signs that erupt every day because of their disobedience. Demons are speaking to them of great blessings coming their way and so they are blind and dull of hearing the truth. Why? Because they refuse to be honest about their sin. Tet for those who want to learn, God will teach you the fear of the Lord.  Search Chronicles, Samuel and Kings.  Learn how God has dealt with the kings who did evil by disobeying Him and walking in their own ways and how the Lord departed from them. Read how the kings who practiced righteousness were blessed by Him, while the ones who did evil  were cursed.

So how should you cultivate a fear of the Lord? I suggest that you start out in 2012 by obeying the Lord in what you already know by staying true to the light you have already been given. Then get on your knees in prayer and ask the Father to put a holy fear in your spirit, so that you can be perfected in your love for Him. Pray “Lord, I want to walk in Your righteousness, to love you through my obedience to your word.” If you are sincere, then your promise for the New year is this. “And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer, and while they are yet speaking, I WILL HEAR! (Isaiah 65:24) If you need someone to pray with you, call 518-477-5759.
