An Excerpt from the FAKE JESUS:

Evan Roberts and The Wales Revival of 1904-1905; Part of the appeal of this wide scale revival lay in Evan Roberts himself, a charismatic and sincere preacher. Although he came from the Welsh Methodist tradition, he wasn’t a theologian, and he never finished his training to be a minister. His message was for all the people of Wales, regardless of denomination, and it was immensely appealing. Meetings would be a mixture of prayer, self-examination and singing, and they could last for hours. Roberts suffered a severe mental breakdown at the end of the revival, from which he never recovered. As a result, his public ministry was finished. He recuperated at the home of Jessie Penn Lewis and he assisted her in writing “War on the Saints.” When the book was denounced by critics in that day, it is reported that Roberts denied co-authoring the book. Jessie Penn Lewis, author of “War on the Saints.” ((1861-1927) was an English evangelical speaker and author of a number of Christian evangelical works. Her father was a Calvinist Methodist minister. Along with Evan Roberts, Penn Lewis was significantly involved in the 1904-1905 Welsh Revival. As previously noted, the revival was abruptly shortened with the mental and physical collapse of Evan Roberts.

Penn-Lewis traveled internationally to take her spiritual warfare message to audiences in Russia, Scandinavia, Canada, the U.S., and India. She has remained a controversial figure among Christians for almost 100 years, primarily because she declared the failure of the Welsh Revival to be the work of Satan. Emphasis is centered in “War on the Saints” of the danger that comes to believers at the point of baptism in the Holy Ghost, yet little reference is made to tongues.

In a subtitle called “The Counterfeit Presence is Sensual,” Penn-Lewis writes: (War on the Saints, pg. 130-131) “The counterfeit presence of God is given by deceiving spirits, working upon the physical frame, or within the bodily frame, upon the senses. We have seen the beginning of this, and how the first ground is gained. It is deepened by these sense-manifestations being repeated, so gently, that the man goes on yielding to them, thinking this is truly ‘communion with God’—-for believers too often look upon ‘communion with God’ as a thing of sense and not of spirit—and here he commences praying to evil spirits under the belief that he is praying to God. The self-control is not yet lost, but as the believer responds to, or gives himself up to these ‘conscious’ manifestations, he does not know that his WILLPOWER IS BEING SLOWLY UNDERMINED. At last through these subtle, delicious experiences, the faith is established that God Himself is CONSCIOUSLY IN POSSESSION OF THE BODY, quickening it with felt thrills of life,or filling it with warmth and heat, or even ‘agonies’ which seem like fellowship with the sufferings of Christ, and travail for souls, or the experience of death with Christ in the consciousness of nails being driven into the bodily frame, etc. From this point, the lying spirits (demons) can work as they will, and there is no limit as to what they may do to a believer deceived to this extent. Now readers, don’t get angry with me. I did not write those words. I don’t know about you, but almost a century ago, this woman wrote words that describe ME! From the agonies and travail for souls, the feelings of warmth and heat, .the consciousness of nails being driven into my bodily frame, I experienced all of this—some of it before I even heard about tongues, before I was even introduced to charismatic teachings or mega preachers.

There is nothing new under the sun where the religious demon is concerned. He just reworks the same ole stuff. Just recently, I happened to be browsing “War on the Saints” for the umpteenth time and I found a short paragraph accompanied by a specific footnote toward the end of the book regarding tongues in small print which is quoted below, in red. As much as I read and value this book, I only noticed this small paragraph and footnote last week: “A question arises here as to whether believers may now speak in unknown tongues, as the disciples did at the time of the Holy Spirit’s in filling at Pentecost.

There are those that say ‘Yes” but the truths set forth in preceding chapters, show that until the spiritual section of the Church of Christ are more acquainted with the counterfeiting methods of the spirits of evil, and the laws which give them power of working, any testimony to such experience AS TRUE, cannot be safely relied upon. (pg. 298) And here is the footnote in fine print: The subject of speaking in tongues is not further dealt with, as the counterfeits in connection with it are only a fraction of the countless counterfeits being forced upon the children of God AT THE PRESENT TIME, numbers of which are not referred to in these pages. A believer not deceived by counterfeit speaking in tongues can be deceived and possessed by accepting other counterfeits. An understanding of the BROAD PRINCIPLES showing the basic differences between the way of God’s working, and the deceptive imitations by Satan, will enable spiritual believers to discern for themselves all the counterfeits they meet with today.

Clearly, Jessie Penn-Lewis was more concerned about “her day and time” then she was about ours. Having ministered in the greatest revival that has occurred in recorded church history since the days of the early church, much of her wisdom comes from experience. Likewise, my own reservations about tongues is primarily connected to counseling professing Christians for deliverance, the vast majority of whom speak in tongues, yet they are also tormented and some have been seriously demonized.

Evidently, Penn-Lewis was not a prophet and therefore, the Lord did not show her “our times” or perhaps she would have spent more time on the speaking in tongues–a practice that has evolved in our times into a major controversy. In this regard, I hope that those readers who speak in tongues will not allow their feelings and emotions to override their good sense. My concern is not for the bona-fide manifestation. In 30 years, I have not personally witnessed one. My concern is for the counterfeit. As such, I agree with my contemporary, Dr. Rebecca Brown’s warning concerning counterfeits manifested through the speaking in other tongues. Her comments were made relative to charismatic Catholics but I believe that Dr. Brown’s words apply to word of faith followers and those within pentecostal denominations as well:

“Christians have made the terrible mistake of assuming that ALL tongues are from God. How wrong they are!…It is well-known that many occult rituals are done in tongues….The fact that Catholics speak in tongues is not proof that they are filled with the Holy Spirit. Too many of these precious Catholic souls assume that because they are speaking in tongues, they are saved. How can the Holy Spirit be operative and manifesting of idolatry?”( Prepare for War, pgs 182-3)

In a nutshell, Dr. Brown’s rhetorical question is the bottom line of this blog, and in a nutshell, she has written what I believe to be the overriding issue. Therefore, I must concur that I do not believe that tongues and its interpretation can be a gift from God within an idolatrous system. The degeneration of this system in the last two decades or more has now gone wild with the prosperity gospel. The amount of money pilfered from unsuspecting, faithful people in tithes and offerings is beyond my imagination to sum up. Furthermore, the current segment of the charismatic/pentecostal system’s preaching of faith has seriously injured and caused premature death to countless of people who have refused needed medical attention that could have spared their lives.

Tragedies of today are actually influenced by the ministries of Charles Parham and another 19th century minister whose name is John Alexander Dowey. Called the Father of Healing Revivalism, Dowey was arrested and charged with manslaughter in the death of his own daughter, who died from a severe burn due to Dowey’s refusal to seek medical attention on her behalf. The beat goes on as I have recently watched video clippings of people whose deceased relatives believed in error that they were healed at a Benny Hinn crusade.

Only God Himself knows how many of his children on their death beds suffered needlessly,–depressed because some word of faith preacher taught them that anyone who becomes sick has either failed God or that their faith in God was too weak to be healed by Him. No, I no longer trust a system that has been replete with error for 100 years. I have searched the scriptures and now I have reviewed the history of tongues. I have some strong impressions as to why I have been suspicious of manifestations that I have either experienced or witnessed. Research has confirmed for me that what we see operative today in tongues is counterfeit. If there is a true gift of tongues in operation, we should be privy to how to discern the true gift from the fake one. Moreover, if tongues has actually ceased by the hand of God, we should not attempt to restore it. For those who desire to continue to track my search for truth, I suggest that you keep reading.

Today is June 24, 2016. Nine years have come and gone. I spoke in tongues from 1982-2007. Twenty-five years!!!! As it now stands, I continue to NOT speak in tongues because today I am still  convinced that it is a counterfeit doctrine and practice of the spirit of the Anti-Christ. I have recently tested it and the prolific language I had is gone with the wind!!!

I make no exceptions, unless you are in a remote part of the world where more than one unknown language is spoken, and the natives have never heard of Jesus Christ.

Watchman Nee is a lot like me in that he took the few works of Jessie Penn Lewis, and the Lord used Her outstanding book “War on the Saints” to inspire Nee to write many, many books. Nee was writing in the 1950’s. Not that I always agree with him but most of the time, I do. In fact, I have read Nee books for 20 years before I had even heard of Jessie. It is rare for Nee to acknowledge that his work  was inspired by something Jessie wrote. So I assumed it was ALL original until I too discovered Jessie.

As for me, when I have been inspired by Jessie Penm-Lewis, I make sure I acknowledge and reference her!
People do the same thing with my books and videos.  There is this  young woman with a Youtive channel who is redoing my videos and reading my books. Once,  she  acknowledged me as the author of  the Zombie book but not in her video about spirit rape where all of the material she spoke on came from either one of my books or one of my videos. 
I am not offended.  I  wish there were more helping me to share my work.  I simply strive not to do the same thing with Jessie. The original author of any revelation ought to be referenced and acknowledged. 
Here is an excerpt from Watchman Nee where he neglected to reference Jessie Penn-Lewis in Jis work called “Spiritual Discernment”:

The mind is the most active part of the soul. It used to be like a wild horse, but now it is being restrained by the will. And the will is in cooperation with the spirit. The way to a spirit-controlled soul comes about as follows: At the moment when the mind begins to think of questionable things and to wander, the first step of control is to discern, that is, to see the condition of the mind in the light of God. The second step is to drive out or cast aside such unhealthy thoughts. And the third step is to return to quietness in God’s presence. Then, begin to prove under the light received what are the permissible, even the acceptable, thoughts of God. Emotion is the lowest, the most unreasonable, part of the soul; yet it exerts the greatest power in swaying the will. Whatever emotion is attached to, the will will usually agree. For emotion acts like a favored child who always gets what he wants with a few cries before his mother. It almost seems that the entire life of a person is controlled by emotion: by what it likes or seeks after. Indeed, its like or dislike is rather irrational. However, if it comes under the control of the spirit, it cannot act so independently as it wishes. It has to yield to God’s approval or permission, though it will always strive against God’s wish. This is the striving between the spirit and the flesh. It causes the greatest pain to the soul. For the soul is not able to like what emotion naturally likes of a person, thing or affair. There in the very depth of man is something that desires after God. But emotion longs after things, and the mind frequently rationalizes and supports emotion. Thus, man is unable to live peacefully. If he is able to disregard his emotion and lay down his like, he will have peace.
This does not mean that God will not permit us to like any person, thing or affair. What He seeks to do is to get rid of the natural source of such like or dislike that is, to eliminate such independent choice. It will be right if there be no independent preference but rather there be delight in what God loves, in what person, thing or affair God takes pleasure in. Such is the spirit-controlled emotion. For the spirit lays hold of man’s emotion by exercising his will. Emotion is an irrational force; yet so also is the Holy Spirit a powerful force above reason. When emotion fails to be satisfied, it causes man to feel uncomfortable and unhappy. So also will the Holy Spirit be grieved when His demand is neglected, thus causing man the loss of peace and joy. Unless a person obeys the spirit and lets his emotion suffer, he will not regain peace and joy. Will is the highest faculty of the soul, yet it occupies only a small portion of the soul. For our life is habitually controlled by emotion and mind. The will seems to permit whatever emotion delights in. And when the mind seems to so logically argue, the will will likewise go along. As soon as the will decides, action immediately follows suit. Hence, sinning is an act of the will. What God and Satan contend over is the will of man.

Accordingly, the will is the center or crux of man. What the will inclines towards is what man moves forward about. We cannot be complacent about this. A spirit-controlled will inclines towards God’s will. It unites with God’s will, seeks after Him, and is able to rise above one’s own emotion and reasoning. A submissive will pleases God immensely, for He can use it to hold sway over the whole man.

sometimes we mistake being demonized by being out of wack and unreasonable in our emotions. When the emotions are out of control, a person can seem to be demonized. Certainly the enemy will take as much advantage of the situation as much as he can, but casting him out when he has not gotten IN the person is not necessary when what one needs to do is simply bring bAlance to the emotions.

The “fear” of not being saved/born again is a tactic used by evil entities to capture and keep the individual in bondage.

The methods are numerous. A popular one is preaching or teaching on Hell – then giving the altar call afterwards to scare up a conversion.  The evil entities will play on the individuals’ emotions, and fill their minds with such fearful thoughts,  that they can not rightly think or reason for themselves. Many misunderstand and are motivated by what seems like a desire for God, but when you look closely at the roots of their experience,  it is out of fear of going to Hell that produces a surface “desire” for God which birthed a false conversion that came through the underhanded work of a religious fallen angel.

The doctrines of original sin and eternal damnation are true.  Yet  the way those doctrines are preached have caused  tremendous psychological distress, forcing folk into  to a  double bind. The duality is that they are judged  as  guilty and responsible and face eternal punishment, yet they  have no ability to do anything about it. In fact, they cannot even stop sinning altogether because they  are not really saved. so the captives to this dilemma  continue to confess and be forgiven, hoping that they have met the criteria despite a  complete lack of feedback about whether they  will actually make it into heaven.
 Were you led to God because of fear of hell? The psychological damage does not go away overnight. In fact, because this sort of indoctrination in young childhood is so powerful, the fear of hell can last a lifetime despite rational reasoning. Likewise the damage to self-esteem and basic self-trust can be crippling. This is why there are so many thousands of walking wounded – people accused and condemned by  a religious demon., aka the spirit of the Anti-Christ.
Deep down, the fear makes it that much harder to actually LOVE, or even LIKE, the God they  are supposed to love in order not to  go to this horrible place of eternal torture.

It’s like a catch-22.If You DON’T love God with all your heart, soul, and mind,  the teaching strongly implies that you are going to this horrible place. Yet just the fact of having to force yourself to conjure up feelings of love under threat of torture, makes it IMPOSSIBLE to do. All  such captives to this form of toxic religion can  do is bury those feelings & deceive themselves. – So spiritual deception becomes a spiritual defense  mechanism to keep them  alive, because  if they  really comprehended the dilemma placed in front of them, how could they NOT end up in a mental hospital?  One must have  strong, sound mind to withstand the accusation, condemnation, guilt and shame that religious demons act upon such captives on a daily basis.
This is spiritual abuse. Torture, in fact. Toxic theology, at its best.

So what is the answer?

Live your life.  Do not listen to such preaching.  We are not to preach hell but we are to preach the cross and the resurrection of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.  If you have been chosen by God,  you belong to God even on your most sinful day.  Before you die, He will come for you, even if its at your death bed. The Holy Spirit  needs less than 5 seconds to save you and snatch you out of the devil’s hands.

Also know that the true  desire for God comes from God.  We are ALL sinners and the scriptures reveal that none of us would desire Him on our own for any reason.  So if you desire God because you are afraid of hell, then you have not heard from God. God does not hand out spirits of fear and torment to His people.  So if you are in fear, you have not heard from God.  Also what that tells me is that you believe more in hell than in the God who created the place, not originally for us, but for Satan, fallen angels and demons.  Satan and demons are not IN hell—at least not yet.

If you truly desire God, then He put that desire in you.  He has given you the desires of His own heart.  And once He  has given you a desire for Him, He will cause you to be born again. Read how He does it from the prophet Eziekiel:

Speaking  in tongues happened to me  about 5 years after I was born again. I did not think I needed it, and I was skeptical from the beginning. Kenneth Hagin came to my town in 1982 and had a meeting with about 2,000 folk or more. I was in attendance,  then a licensed minister for about a year. 

Anyway, at the end of the service, those who did not speak in tongues were called to leave the conference and go into another room. Among hundreds of people, I was among the last to utter. I was still suspicious though. Even though I became fluent, I wanted to interpret, to know what I was saying. Although I prayed for 25 years for interpretation, my prayer never was answered.. It has come to me that my prayer was not answered because God has no answer to give other than “bible time tongues has ceased so there is no interpretation to give!!!!
As time progressed, I got suspicious. By then, I had been a pastor for about 20 years or so.   What I noticed first  of all, was  that too many of my tongue- talking church members had no problem with sin and most were unloving folk. Yet it was  my deliverance work that  told the tale. You see, I would speak in tongues in a deliverance and it became clear that demons KNEW what I was saying.

I said to myself “hmmmmmmm.” LOL.
So I did some research on the subject. Boy was I shocked to find that 19 centuries of believers did not speak in tongues and that it was revived in 1901 by Charles Parham, the father of Pentecostalism, a Down-low homosexual and a racist. I said hmmmmmm again.
I also discovered that Witches and occultists also speak in tongues. Truly I was shocked when I learned that the Corinthians spoke in tongues BEFORE Paul brought them the gospel of Jesus Christ. Also witches report that while they speak in tongues, a demon sits on their shoulder. once I completed the research for the Fake Jesus, I stopped “my  prayer language.”

That said, I have a simple solution to uncovering things that comes from the Lord’s own mouth. LOOK AT THE TREE. First the root. In other words, examine the founder. if there is something evil,or unclean about the history of a thing, remember that an evil tree does not bring forth good fruit. then look at the fruit itself.
Modern day tongues was first started by a man who was caught exposing himself in a park. There is a record of that. Then tongues carried over and was a part of the Asuza Street Revival where several witches became a part of the assembly.
Besides tongues, can you look over your life and see how applying this simple rule of tree and fruit, you would have avoided confusion and deception?

Lately there have been a spurt of new followers on 3 of my 5 blogs in this order: Pam Sheppard Publishing, with Leave the Church and Setting Captives free neck and neck for second place.  Welcome to all of you.

I have been somewhat neglectful of my public blogs lately, particularly because I spend several hours,  7 days a week, —on and off through out the day— on my private blogs called RESCUE 1 and 2.  If anyone is interested in a 30 day free trial on RESCUE,  let me know in the contact form below in the comment box..  You will be assigned a mentor who will prepare you and bring you up to date on what RESCUE is all about.

So what is on my mind in this season?

Well, I guess it is staying focused.  Besides writing and publishing, I do pastoral Christian counseling over the telephone, both one on one and in small groups. Most of those who contact me believe they are demonized.  I work with them by feeding them truth.  Almost EVERYONE immediately improves, for as the Lord Jesus taught, truth MAKES you free.  Nevertheless, truth teaching takes time simply because the deception built  into THIS generation runs REAL deep.   But after truth has played Her part and done Her work, , generally it takes me all of 5 minutes to cast out demons over the phone. 

In my phone sessions  with damaged sheep, a truth continues to  stir in my spirit that is difficult to express. When I really focus by  listening  to what  has been perpetrated to human beings in the church and by the church, all I say is a  common phrase  ironically most churchfolk repeat:  THE DEVIL SHO NUFF HAS BEEN BUSY!!!

In fact,  the  reports of spiritual abuse that are manifested by churchgoing folk upon  God’s people   cause me to realize how much of the world is in the church system  and how dangerous it is to look back at Her.

Yet,  in my  deliverance  counseling sessions, we must look back in order to recover.  Why?  Well, because we need to know what is it about ourselves that caused us to succumb to spiritual abuse in the first place. Even so, we also have to be careful HOW we look back. Anxiety or inner turmoil serves as a sign that we have not completely gotten over a particular thing. So when this happens, we need to retreat, build up strength in that area and confront it when we are better prepared. This is the path of deliverance counseling. We consistently advance and retreat to fight another day.

Some have left the world, even the church world, but like Lot’s wife, the cross has not separated you from the longing that remains in your  hearts for the world. DO YOU  REALLY STILL DESIRE TO ACCEPTED  BY THE WORLD?

If you are still hooked to the world and you believe yourself to be a Christian,  I warn everyone who has an ear to hear and an eye to see. There is a religious world in our times which is far more dangerous than  other systems that are obviously evil and a part of Satan’s domain. This religious world consists of professing Christians who deny the cross and the resurrection of Jesus Christ in more ways than one.

The cross symbolizes deliverance from this present evil age (Gal 1:4),—from the powers of darkness (Col 1:13)—from the devils and demons who rule the world under their leader, Satan–(Eph 6:12) and—-on the resurrection side of the cross—WE ARE TRANSLATED INTO THE KINGDOM OF THE SON OF GOD! When we plead the blood, we are telling the enemy that we are dead to his world, that he no longer has authority over us, that we walk in that same power that raised Jesus from the dead.

So think of the horror of going to church to be delivered from the world and this evil age, only to find the same hypocrites who put The Lord Jesus on the cross, have also nailed YOU to it and by so doing, turned YOU loose into the hands of the devil. All I can say is OMG. it is worst than I thought.

More than anyone, it was religion that crucified Him.
