Passivity and the Deception of the Religious Spirit

The truth to be emphasized is that God never “wills” instead of man, and whatever a man does, he is himself responsible for his actions. Religious demons major goal is to manipulate the will of a sincere and unsuspecting believer into a state of passivity in order to control us.

The believer whose “will” has become passive, finds, after a time, the greatest difficulty in making decisions of any kind, and he looks outside, and all around him for something to help him to decide the smallest matters. When he has become conscious of his passive condition, he has a painful sense of being unable to meet some of the situations of ordinary life. If spoken to, he knows he cannot will to listen till a sentence is completed; if asked to judge a matter, he knows he cannot do it; if he is required to “remember” or use his imagination, he knows he is unable to, and becomes terrified at any proposed course of action where these demands may come upon him. The tactics of the enemy now may be to drive him into situations where these demands may be made, and thus torture or embarrass him before others.

Little does the believer know that in this condition he may, unknowingly, rely upon the assistance of evil spirits, who have brought about the passivity for this very object. The faculty unused lies dormant and dead in their grip, but if used it is an occasion for them to manifest themselves through it. They are too ready to “will” instead of the man, and they will put within his reach many “supernatural” props to help him in “decision,” especially in the way of “texts” used apart from their context, and supernaturally given, which the believer, seeking so longingly to do the will of God, seizes upon, and firmly grasps as a drowning man a rope, blinded, by the apparently given Divine help, to the principle that Godnote 3 only works through the active volition of a man, and not for him in matters requiring his action.

Taken from Jessie Penn-Lewis in “War on the Saints.”

How many of you have said “I surrender all in the IC and would not act unless you got some kind of sign?

Demons and Depression by JPL in War on the Saints

CAUSES OF DEPRESSION APART FROM THE
PHYSICAL CONDITION

Herein lies the real cause of depression as experienced by many believers, apart from purely physical conditions. The victim of depression and melancholia has admitted thoughts suggested by the deceiving spirits, until the mind is unable to shake them off, or else the enemy has obtained such a footing, that he holds the mental faculties in a grip of passivity, so that they cannot act. He feels as though they were in a vice, or weighted with some heavy pressure which obscures all light, and prevents him grasping the facts around him, or using his reason at all. The malignant powers of darkness ofttimes succeed in keeping those who have given them opportunity to get them into their grip under the most harassing clouds and shadows. They rejoice over their own wicked deeds, and love to bind their victims, and keep them in bondage.

This is truly the “oppression” of the enemy (Ps. 42: 9), and is the outcome of the earlier stages of the attacks of deceiving spirits upon the mind, which could have been quenched had they been dealt with at the beginning.

That the enemy takes advantage of any mental feebleness, or overstrain, or disease, is, of course, to be recognized; but in persons of normal health, with no disease of the mind, inherited or induced, much of the “depression” may be attributed to the inroads of the enemy, through ground given unconsciously at some previous time. The cause of “brain-fog” too, needs to be examined in this light, lest many attribute to natural causes what may have been supernaturally brought about.

Jessie Penn-Lewis On Passivity

To answer the question, “why God permit’s Satan’s attacks,” I look to the book of the century, “War on the Saints.”

Sister Penn-Lewis writes:

“Only through the fire of sifting will the people of God be urged forward to the battle and victory which will drive the forces of Satan from their place in the heavenlies……Wrong conceptions of divine things can only be destroyed by experience. Many of the children of God are deceived whilst they think they are protected by God. They comply with the conditions for God to work, apart from intelligent understanding of why He does so,and they do not realize that it is just as possible IGNORANTLY TO COMPLY WITH THE CONDITIONS FOR EVIL SPIRITS TO WORK, through ignorance of the laws governing both divine and satanic workings. (pg. 299)

I can certainly relate to Sister Jessie’s words. While I was a minister within the organized church for 25 years, I thought that I knew a lot about deliverance. As I look back, I realize now that I only knew a very “little bit.” Actually, my “little bit” seemed like a lot in comparision to my peers and ministerial colleagues who barely even mentioned that the devil actually exists. I had even cast out a few demons, but never inside of conventional church walls.

Churchfolk in bondage in the community sought me out by either telephone or they knocked at my door. I was primarily sought after “on the down low” by both denominational and word of faith churchgoers, not because I was an ordained minister but in truth, it was known that I had experience in the occult. I describe my first deliverance session with a word of faith Christian woman who was addicted to alcohol in “To Curse The Root:” “I had never conducted a deliverance before but I believed God’s word so I began by rebuking the spirit and commanding it with a loud voice to come out of her in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. My daughter, fourteen years old at the time, began to join me in the command.

From the moment I began, Laura started to cough and vomit up a greenish fluid, which I thought was bile. We got her a pail, as she continued to heave and retch. Then, like the wisping sound of wind, an unearthly, guttural, rasping sound issued forth from deep in Laura’s throat.”(pg. 110.”) Laura was delivered that day and she has remained drug free since 1983. In fact, she is now an evangelist and a certified addiction counselor. This was a great victory for my daughter and I since we moved out in faith without any knowledge. However, with only a smattering of spiritual warfare experience, I believe that one of the reasons why I had to be driven out of the organized church was so that I would not be hindered from “going deeper.”

Unfortunately, the organized church continues to be unwilling to face the truth and churchfolk are content to remain ignorant. I prefer to  press forward to gain the knowledge necessary for discernment. Discernment is not only spiritual but it also involves natural reasoning, wisdom and commonsense. The more battles I experience, the more knowledge I acquire. With each captive, I learn more each day how to resist the wiles, schemes, accusations, tricks, weights and obstacles of the devil. Giving up the support and acceptance of people is a price worth paying.

Take yoga as an example. Some of the clients that I have worked with over the years practiced yoga BEFORE they became a Christian. They are now being tormented. The torment that they are presently enduring is unimaginable. The obscenities, cursings, blasphemies and ravings that come forth out of the mouths and throats of those whom Hindu demons control is “unearthly”,especially when they also speak in tongues. It is progressive, but we are experiencing some success. Yoga is rooted in Eastern mysticism, incompatible with Christianity. Yet, there are Christians who believe that it is possible to extract physical benefits from yoga, in spite of its demonic roots. In fact, there is now an acceptable practice, spreading like wild-fire primarily in the denominational churches called “Christian Yoga.”

Operating in some of the United Methodist Churches and the Parkwood Baptist Church, it is believed that “getting quiet to hear God” by “tuning out the world’s frequency to tune into God’s frequency” is obtainable through Christianized yoga. Church leaders ignorantly believe that applying scripture to yoga provides an opportunity for its participants to receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. What the deceived do not know is that conversion to Jesus Christ of Nazareth through the practice of yoga is akin to expecting “Satan to cast out Satan.” It just won’t happen. Why? Because through passivity, yoga stretches open up the seven psychic centers in the body known in the occult world as chakras.

Chakras are actually demonic doorways for Hindu deities who themselves are principalities and powers. Each of these demons rules a particular sphere of life, which I am presently researching. Once these doorways are opened through passivity, the deities stand guard over each portal: Over the crown is Shiva; the third eye is Hakini; the throat is Savashiva, the heart is Isha, the navel is Vahni, the sexual organs are Vishnu and Rakeeni and the anus is Brahma.

The main problem is that the passivity of the yoga practitioner has weakened his will. This kind of passivity empowers any one or all 8 demons or deities. While each deity stands guard over the doorways that it rules, countless other lower demons pass in and out of each of the 7 portals. To unseat a demonic deity is not impossible but it is very challenging, to say the least. What I am presently learning is that once the captive is strong enough in his or her will, each demon must be cast out one at a time by the name of the deity. Then the blood of Jesus Christ of Nazareth must be applied to the doorposts of the 7 psychic centers in order to permanently close these doorways, opened by the apparently harmless practice of yoga.

Almost one hundred years ago, woman of God Jessie Penn Lewis in collaboration with Evangelist Evan Roberts of the revival in Wales wrote  “War on the Saints.” This book has no competition or comparison. Simply put, the pain of “waking me up” to how the religious demon had deceived me palled to the astounding joy that the revelations of truth continue to bring me, almost on a daily basis.”War on the Saints” literally set me free, equipped me to serve and inspired the contents of my third  book, “Faces of the Religious Demon.”

So no one has defined passivity better than Jessie Penn Lewis. In her own words:

The primary cause of deception and possession in surrendered believers may be condensed into one word, PASSIVITY; that is, a cessation of the active exercise of the WILL in control over the spirit, soul and body or either, as may be the case. It is, practically, a counterfeit of “surrender to God.” The believer who surrenders his members or faculties to God, AND CEASES TO USE THEM HIMSELF, thereby falls into “passivity” which enable evil spirits to deceive, and possess any part of his being which has become passive.” This deception over passive surrender may be exampled thus: A believer surrenders his “arm” to God. He permits it to hang passive, waiting for ‘God to use it.’ He is asked, ‘why do you not use your arm?’ He replies, ‘I have surrendered it to God. I must not use it now. God must use it.’But will God lift the arm for the man? Nay,the man himself must lift it, and use it, seeking to understand intelligently God’s mind in doing so.(War on the Saints, pg. 71.)

Sister Lewis amplifies this general definition of passivity as a state of being out of control because of a loss of free will, a condition of inactivity or idleness. In order to know what is going on in the spiritual realm, I believe that every serious Christian should have access to “War on the Saints.” I recommend that you purchase either a soft or hard cover and keep it real close by. Make sure that it is unabridged as the abridged version has been seriously “butchered by Christians who disagreed with her.” On those few occasions that I myself have had reservations about one of Jessie’s teachings, I  have been disproved more than once.

ii Thessalonians: Strong Delusion is Here!

ii Thessalonians: Strong Delusion is Here!

Jessie Penn-Lewis, the author of "War on the Saints," is the woman of God of the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries.

One of my client presently  in counseling suggested to a Charismatic friend that she visit my website and consider seeking my services.  The friend DID visit www.pamsheppard.com  As a result of her visit, the friend  told my client  that “the woman is of the devil.”  I was not shocked, or concerned, certainly  not offended.  My response to my client this morning  was “If someone had introduced the “me” of today to me ten years ago, my reaction would have been the same as your friend.”  Ten years ago, the message that I bring today, I myself  would have rejected. I too would have believed that anyone who brought such a message “is of the devil.”  My eyes were opened by a book and a prayer about 10 years ago.  The book was “War on the Saints” by Jessie Penn-Lewis. The prayer was “Lord, expose the darkness that may be around me.” My prayer was immediately and progressively answered. The darkness has been  EVERYWHERE.  Strong, strong  delusion!!

The bible foretells through Paul to the Thessalonian believers  that in the last days, a time in church history would come  when God would send “strong delusion.” In like manner,  Paul even warned Timothy that in the last days, there would be a group of demons who would infiltrate the churches with false and mixed doctrine, capable of even causing some of the elect to “depart from the faith” and give heed to or listen and absorb   devilish false teachings.

From my work on “the Fake Jesus”, I have been convinced that  “THAT DAY” came already. “Strong delusion” has already been poured out.    Paul  also wrote the Thessalonians  that the anti-Christ was being restrained by the Holy Ghost.  Even so,   there would come a day in church history when the Holy Ghost would be so grieved, that He would be “taken out of the way.”  Paul wrote to the Thessalonians that when the Holy Ghost is taken out-of-the-way, the anti-Christ would be revealed.

With  the preparation of  “the Fake Jesus,” I now believe that the Anti-Christ is really a fallen angel.  Certainly this angel will use the body of a man at some point and there are indications that  he has already done so.  According to Benjamin Creme, mentioned in the Fake Jesus, Maitreya was  first revealed in the flesh in July 1977. I was born again in March 1977, just 4 months before Maitreya was revealed.

How did I get to church in the first place?  Well, I had 3 dreams that sent me to an African-American denomination in 1979.  I learned just as I finished “The Fake Jesus” a few years ago,  that those dreams came from the religious fallen angel  that is assigned to me.  The book “Come Out of Her, God’s People” addresses why the enemy would actually “send me to church” and why God would allow it to happen.

It is important to note, that I myself didn’t get saved from “the preached word in a church.”  I knew the gospel through the holidays and the movies  about Jesus.  I had heard that Jesus  had died for my sins and that He was raised from the dead.  I heard, I understood, and I did not believe.

In spite of my godlessness, I got saved because the Holy Ghost drew me to the cross in March 1977 and caused me to see that I was a sinner and I repented.  Instantly, faith was dropped into me to believe that Jesus was dead but HE got up from the grave in His physical body.  It was like a light bulb went off in my spirit, remaining there like a hard rock for the next 34 years.

Without ever having heard a word preached in a sermon by a minister behind the pulpit, God saved me anyway.  It is an experience that absolutely no one can take away from me.

If God saved me, an atheist, without any church background who had never even read the bible, then God can save anyone anywhere. The irony is that once the gospel was preached in the first century, the Lord really has not needed any of us. Once the  entire known world came to know about the cross and the resurrection of Jesus Christ 19 centuries ago, the message was planted in the collective consciousness from one generation to another.

In our generation, the word of God has  also been heard around the world.  There is no where that the name of Jesus is not known.  To preach is not to stand behind a pulpit with a sermon.  To preach is “to proclaim” or simply “to tell the story of Jesus.”  The truth is that THE GREATEST STORY EVER TOLD HAS ALREADY BEEN TOLD!!!!”

I OWE MY MINISTRY TO A WOMAN OF GOD, JESSIE PENN LEWIS.

My online  ministry has been birthed through vision. In 1990, I knew nothing about the Internet.  One night I  dreamt that I was flying with the Holy Ghost over the city.  Looking down I saw a 12 mile line of people, stretching down the highway from Albany to Selkirk. The Spirit said “Pam, do you see that line down there? You are going to minister to  every one of those people.”  “Where?” I asked.  He pointed to a little house and said “from there.” To the east.  Over the years, I wondered how I  could minister to  so many people in one lifetime in that little house.  It would have to take a lifetime and perhaps a large staff.  Only in recent years have I  understood the humor of the Holy Ghost.  Today, the Internet is called the Highway, and when we use “the Highway” we are “on line!” I now live in that little place in the east.  Shortly after I had begun to work with captives on line in December 2002, that the Holy Ghost spoke again.  I was working on the computer in 2003 when  I heard Him whisper, “Pam, look, you are now “on line” on the Super Internet Highway.

I have really been walking by faith, out here “on line.” Nine years ago, I really didn’t have a clue. Now I have a sense of what the mission is.  I am to prepare the remnant church for endtime events.  A part of that preparation is to train ministers that the Lord has called to the remnant harvest field. Every bit of work that I do also connects to unveiling the deception perpetrated by fallen angels and demons. Only second to preaching the gospel in His Great Commission, the Lord Jesus Christ  instructed His disciples to go forth and cast out demons in His Name by the power of the Holy Ghost. (Mark 16:17)  In the Lord’s day and time, this was a rather simple instruction.

During His ministry, Jesus did not have to teach, defend or explain the existence of the unseen world because the people   grasped the reality of demons without difficulty.  In fact,   both natural and   spiritual discernment of evil spirits was commonplace.  For example, when a  woman of Canaan came to Jesus on behalf of her daughter,  He did not have to convince or persuade her  that her daughter was demonized. This  Canaanite mother was certainly not ignorant as she cried out  to Jesus “my daughter is severely vexed with a devil.”  It is obvious from the scripture that she understood  what demonic oppression entailed. (Matthew 15:2)

Yet, almost two thousand years later, the ignorance of bible toting people of God concerning the powers of darkness has caused my books and my deliverance mentoring model   to be both vital and necessary. In truth,  Satan has been extremely successful over the centuries to not only keep the church in the dark about himself and his devices, but the religious demon  has actually been able to manipulate the organized church to even  promote Satan’s sinister agenda.

Almost one hundred years ago, Jessie Penn-Lewis, in collaboration with Evangelist Evan Roberts wrote a life-saving and life changing book entitled “War on the Saints.” As indicated in my dedication, this book has no competition or comparison.   Simply put, the pain of opening my blind eyes to how the religious demon had deceived me palled to the astounding  joy that truth brings.   “War on the Saints”  literally set me free, equipped me to serve. On October 25, 1911, I will have been in ministry for 30 years.  It was all a training ground for what is about to transpire very soon.

I hope my books do the same in this hour.  If my books help you, it was because of a woman who died in 1915 yet still lives today through her astounding, life changing books. Without Jessie, I would still be imprisoned in a denomination, pastoring cold, dull, lifeless pew warmers.
