False Doctrine: My Personal View on Tongues Part 2

Charismatic wolves have opened the doors wide to religious demons with the false doctrine of tongues.

As a pastor, I did not teach that ALL should speak in tongues. Nor did I present tongues as evidence that someone is saved. With the fluency that I myself had in tongues, I could obviously have  let this issue rest by simply accepting both the doctrine and the practice with my own experience as confirmation of its reality and acceptability. I could matter of factly declare as do 99% of tongue talkers, “Oh, well, since I speak in tongues, it MUST be from God and not a counterfeit.”

No, I do not try the spirits by my own personal experience. For example, as a woman in ministry, I was called by several dreams and visions. Yet I never argued with anyone whether or not women should be preaching or not preaching. In all honesty, I really didn’t know. I was prepared to step down anytime in obedience to God, if my stepping forward to preach was presumptuous. I read the same scriptures from the letters of Paul that antagonists used to deny women as ministers, yet I was not convinced by their interpretations that “a woman ought not to teach.” I have simply followed the leading of the Holy Ghost, expecting that the Lord would reveal the truth, “bye and bye.”

Today, 30 years later, I believe that I know the truth about the “woman question.” The answer to the debate is rather simple. With few exceptions, women were not called to ministry during the age of the organized church in the first 1965 years of its history. God had His reasons for restraining women in Christian ministry. Only in the last 10-15 years have women come forward in significant numbers. Apparently it must be “the time.” Personally speaking,  I was drafted as a forerunner, just a little “out of season.”

I approach the debate of tongues in a similar way. As with the “woman in ministry question,” I did some research on the speaking in tongues throughout each church age. As with all controversial doctrines and practices, people who claim to “know the word”, defend tongues with a few key scriptures, with no consideration of cultural or historic variables. Without a socio-cultural perspective, mass confusion is the consequence. In fact, those who speak in tongues use specific verses taken out of context from predominately two books to support their position: I Corinthians 12 and 14 and some key scriptures in Acts. In this post, I will take the very same scriptures and present a position that may surprise you, but will hopefully shed some light on whether or not tongues is to be used “as a prayer language.”

I received tongues at a meeting held in Albany New York through the ministry ofthe late Kenneth Hagin. Hagin is really the founder of the word of faith movement as it is operating today. I have no idea whether or not Hagin was a false prophet or a deceived one. I simply look around as I view Charismania, and I know Hagin by his fruits–charismatic witchcraft!. Anyway, I never truly embraced the way that I received tongues because it had no resemblance to the way the early church received this gift as revealed in the book of Acts. Yet, I grew to speak prolifically, at my own will, what charismatics call  “a prayer language.” The reason why I have not been convinced about tongues is that in 25 years, I was not able to find a bona-fide interpreter, nor have I been able to interpret myself.

So I ask, “Where are the interpreters?” The Holy Ghost does not expect me to throw away my commonsense. If I have prayed off and on for decades to receive the gift of interpretation of tongues as Paul suggests that we all do, 25 years have passed and I still have no one, including myself to interpret my “prayer language”, good sense ought to suggest to me that the tongue that I have received is not from God.

So if it is not from God, then who did it come from? Well, its obvious. It didn’t come from me. I suspect that it came from one of the Ascended Masters, perhaps Sananda or Ashtar. What would be the reason for the demons to desire to imitate tongues?

Well, if we don’t know what we are saying when we speak in an “unknown” tongue, we could very possibly be used by demonic beings to “decree and declare” that their will, purposes and agenda be done on earth, rather than that of the will of the Father of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the One, True and Only Creator–the one that Lucifer rebelled against in the first place.  On 1/8/2007, when I first spoke out on tongues, I certainly drew a bunch of folk out into the open with this one!!! lol. For some, it seems that tongues is really a “sacred cow,” practically an “untouchable.”

I don’t presume to have ALL the answers about anything. So if you have a need to “set me straight”, I can take it.!!!  There are some key statements that I believe are important to make from the outset. The first statement is this. From the words and warnings of Jesus Christ, I believe that the greatest danger of our time is deception.

The elect have been deceived. I know without a shadow of a doubt that I am among the elect of God, yet I myself have been deceived many times. But thanks be to God, those who will be obedient, those who will resist Satan by humbling themselves before God will be undeceived in due season. For me, “this is due season.”

The next statement that I believe is important is this: To rightly divide the word, one must be careful of making assumptions.

For example, as we study the word, is it “right”–does it make sense–for us to assume that JUST BECAUSE God did something in the past, that He is obligated to do the same thing in the future? In other words, should we use biblical history to “box in” God into ALWAYS doing what He once did, the way He once did it? Conversely speaking, just because we do not find in the bible where God did this or that, must we assume that if a sign or a manifestation is not an exact duplication of something that we can find in the word of God, that it cannot be a manifestation of God today?

Taking this a step further, how does one “rightly divide” the bible? For example, when I read Job, I am careful NOT to read the lengthy discourses of Job’s friends. Why? Because at the end of the book I find God’s words to one of Job’s friends: “My wrath is aroused against you and your two friends for you have not spoken of Me what is right, as My servant Job has.” When I first studied the advice of Job’s friends, I myself didn’t see anything wrong with it. But once I got to Job 42:7, I usually skip over what Job’s friends have to say, to prevent myself from ingesting wrong spiritual precepts.

Along these lines, a general statement of warning is in order, relative to taking scriptures out of context without connecting the selected verse to the the “who, what, where, how and why” of the entire book. With these general statements made and without throwing out of context scriptures back and forth in a useless debate, I think we can all agree that God is a God of order, and within his order, there is always a divine purpose.

When we look at tongues and the culture and history of the people in the early church, we find that in one local community, there were people who had different native tongues or languages: Parthians, Medes, Elamites, Mesopotamians,Judeans,Cappadocians, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia,Pamphylia, Egyptians, those from Lybia, Cyrene, Romans, Jews, Cretans, and Arabs. I count here 17 different languages. People gathered on the day of Pentecost heard the disciples speak in their own native tongues “the wonderful works of God.” (Acts 2: 11)

What are the wonderful works of God? That God so loved the world that He sent His Son as a propitiation or “peace-offering” to appease His wrath toward sin and that His Son became sin at the cross, died and was raised from the dead.” In other words, through the speaking in other tongues by unlearned Galileans, sinners could hear the gospel preached in their own language and be converted. How was this done? Either everyone heard their own language in their inner ear while one person was speaking, or each of the disciples was speaking at least one of 17 different languages.

Therefore, the major purpose of tongues was “to preach the gospel” to those who did not understand the native dialect of the Galileans. Was tongues a supernatural evidence that God was with them and in them? Most definitely. Yet the purpose of tongues was NOT self edification and that is the correction that Paul brought to the Corinthians in Ch.12, 13 and 14. In a nutshell, Paul’s message to the Corinthians was based upon their misuse of tongues. Their major misuse of tongues is that they were using it “as a prayer language,” trying to “edify themselves”, by speaking mysteries to God when Paul nicely corrected them.

Simply put, in present day vernacular, Paul was saying, “I appreciate your zeal. But you must remember, brethren that once “you were carried away by dumb idols.” In other words, once you were worshipping demons. (I Cor.12:2) In the doctrinal footnotes associated with this scripture found in the King James Study Bible published by Thomas Nelson, it is noted that prior to their conversion to Christianity, the Corinthians had a pagan practice of speaking in tongues for the purpose of making contact with the gods. “Pagan worship at Corinth involved a chanting exercise of “tongues,”—- a practice of ecstatic utterances, common in the cults and in the worship of various Greek gods and goddesses.

Isn’t it ironic that present day tongue talkers use this very scripture to justify their explanation about “a prayer language”, without rightly dividing the context. First of all, Paul’s letters to the Corinthians are different from his letters to the Romans and the Ephesians because the Corinthian letters consist of Paul’s response to a letter that they had sent to him. Furthermore, Paul points out that those in the household of Chloe had also informed him of various divisive issues. So when you read both the first and the second books to the believers in Corinth, you have to read it, keeping in mind, “who is saying what to whom?” Are these the words of those from Chloe’s household?, or is Paul repeating the words sent to him in a letter from the Corinthians that we have no access to? or are these Paul’s own words?” It makes all of the difference in “rightly dividing the word.”

Here is an example that has held women in bondage for centuries. Clearly, the “women keep silent in the church, learn at home from your husbands, etc. etc. were NOT PAUL’S WORDS. Paul was repeating back to them excerpts or quotations from the letter that he had received from them. How do I know? LOOK AT 1 Corinthians 14: 36. In response to all of that, Paul writes, “WHAT! Did the word of God come originally from YOU only?” This verse is very insulting to the men as if Paul is saying, “boys, get a grip!!!” What’s wrong with you? Are you ignorant for writing such a thing to me????!!!. Look at the verse in the original King James.

Yet for centuries, the church has been misreading practically ALL of I Corinthians Chapter 14. In that same chapter, those who hold with the prayer language doctrine of tongues for “personal” edification have misapplied and misunderstood Paul’s intent. Everyone focuses on the love theme of Chapter 13, but the main subject is really tongues, ie. though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels. Tongues is the main subject. Paul was being very kind to the Corinthians because “they were fervent and zealous, yet they were babes in Christ. So Paul is gentle with them, writing, if you will be zealous about spiritual gifts, seek not a self gratifying prayer language but seek a gift like interpretation of tongues so that through love, you can benefit the entire church.

In the study notes, I found yet another important statement to refute the prayer language for “self edification”: “This is best understood as a general reference of divine power evidenced in the exercise of the gift. Its purpose was to demonstrate divine power to the unbeliever. However, if an unbeliever should visit a congregation where gifts are being exercised without regard for order or understanding, the results will be just the opposite. The key purpose of the gift is destroyed by the unbridled exercise of it. Considering Paul’s entire point of view about tongues, when he wrote: “I speak in tongues more than you all,” I don’t believe he was talking about a prayer language.

Paul was a travelling evangelist so the speaking in tongues other than his own native language was most purposeful. Yet consider the evangelists of today. Where can we go in the United States and find large populations of people who do not speak English? The predominant “other tongue” of this country is Spanish. I have had Spanish-speaking people in my worship services. I speak in tongues and I have never studied Spanish. Yet, did I preach to them in their language? No, I did not. Did I interpret what I spoke in English to them in Spanish? No. I had a bi-lingual member to translate for me. All over the world, charismatic evangelists are preaching in English with translators, yet they “speak in tongues.” SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE. COULD IT BE THAT TONGUES HAS CEASED AS PAUL SAID IT WOULD?

Yes! In fact, history proves that tongues actually  ceased for 1900 years or 19 centuries. So tongue talkers of today are “Johnny come latelies!”

If you spoke in tongues AFTER you were saved, all you really need to do is stop speaking and “see what happens,” as I did.  You will anger the enemy and he will try to force you to utter. Resist the religious demon the enemy has assigned to you and you will be fine. However, the problem goes much deeper for those who declared  “I accept jesus.” If you asked Jesus to come into your heart, you are most likely demonized. You are in serious trouble. False Doctrine: My Personal View on Tongues

False Doctrine: Tongues As a Prayer Language

I believe that running neck and neck with being slain in the spirit, speaking in other tongues is at the top of the list of doctrinal controversy. Shortly after I got saved in 1977, I knew about the baptisms of water and fire, but I had not yet heard that tongues was believed to be the “initial evidence” of the baptism of the Holy Ghost, as taught by Pentecostal, Charismatic and Word of Faith Believers.I write about tongues in 4 of my 6 books. With the completion of “Faces of the Religious Demon,” I had suspicions that something was clearly wrong. In counseling, I was put in contact with too many demonized, tongue speaking Christians. By the time I wrote my 6th and last book, the New Idolatry,  I was convinced that this practice is demonicly inspired.

Getting back to my story, a few days after I was saved, I received supernaturally the name of a pentecostal church that was on Ferry Street in my town. I searched the yellow pages, and to my amazement, there it was. At that time, I had never even heard the words “pentecostal,” “tongues” or even being “baptized” in the Holy Ghost. So accompanied by my friend Vivian, we headed for Ferry Street to St. Johns Church of God in Christ.

When we entered the church, the service was already in progress. The thing that I found so astounding was the music. It seemed like the sounds of the musical instruments were actually coming through the walls. It was there that I first got introduced to what I believed then was “the presence of the Holy Ghost.” It was absolutely awesome!

No words were ever spoken to either one of us. Yet right in the middle of the service, a group of the members gathered together, walked to the back of the church and encircled us. To my amazement, Vivian fell to the ground and began to roll around on the floor. She began to froth at the mouth, jerk, twist, appearing as though she was having a seizure. Apparently pleased with this manifestation, those who encircled us also went into a kind of ecstatic experience which ordinarily would have frightened me, but I was feeling so much peace from the power than seemed to be both inside and upon me, that I was in no way disquieted.

Yet, the ecstasy left me when the gathered group and the rest of those assembled all turned to me, with the unspoken expectation that “it was my turn” to fall out and roll on the floor. I didn’t want to be disrespectful but once Vivian “came to her senses,” we quickly eased our way out the door, while the worship service continued without missing a beat. Not one word was ever spoken between us and them. For thirty years, I have marked that day as my”baptism in the Holy Ghost”, yet without tongues as the initial evidence.

Even though I myself have spoken in various tongues fluently since 1983, I have had serious reservations about this practice for almost two decades. As I continue to persevere to “try the spirits” in my own very supernatural spiritual life, I have placed several dreams, signs, miracles and wonders to the test. Simply put, I seek God continually to expose the truth, no matter the results or the consequences.

It turns out that some of my most treasured spiritual experiences, when examined or “tried,” have proven to be sent by a religious demon. Am I hurt or disappointed? Not at all. For as a result of “trying the spirits,” I not only have been liberated by truth, but I have been flooded with an abundance of knowledge and wisdom since 2004, particularly in the year 2007. If 2012 will be more revelatory than 2007, I pray for continued peace and strength to continue to adjust to the stark reality of unadulterated truth.

I believe that the reason why I have not been troubled by recent spiritual exposures of error and deception is because truly, I have had nothing to lose. Each day that yet another deception is exposed, I am reminded of the words of the Lord about building your foundation upon the solid rock. My salvation experience that occurred on March 29th, 1977 at 4pm on a Monday afternoon is MY SOLID ROCK. When I came into the kingdom, I had nothing else built into my “religious” foundation. No church background at all. No doctrine. No memorized scriptures. No prayers. Nothing. I was at ground zero. A hardened atheist. No religion to lose. At ground zero, the Holy Ghost was able to reveal in the twinkling of an eye what would last and become in me “a solid rock.. It was so simple yet so unforgettable.

I knew that I knew that I knew that Jesus Christ paid for my sins in His death and that He also defeated death by being raised from the dead. That was it!!!! Therefore, my rebirth experience has been my anchor, my solid Rock. Surely I experience a feeling that is difficult to describe. It is not disappointment exactly. The closest word to describe what truth brings is a sense of awesome humility. I suspect what I feel is “the fear of the Lord.” Truly, the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. For with every revelation I receive about error and deception, my foundation  continues to remain unmoved. Therefore, outside of any personal revelations received from the Spirit of God or from the religious demon masquerading as God, all that I have lost are the traditions and doctrines of men.

Looking back over 32 years, without a doubt, I know that it was a religious demon who sent us to the Pentecostal church on Ferry Street.

The 7 Chakras: Demonic Doorways

THE SEVEN CHAKRAS

Schematic of yoga chakras.
The 7 demonic gateways or doorways

There are seven psychic gates  in the human body that occultists call chakras: The crown of the head,  the forehead between the eyes called the 3rd eye, the throat, the heart,  the navel, the sex organs and the anus. In his testimony, former  grandmaster occultist, “Eric” revealed that these 7 openings are sealed  by God and opened by man through sin.  When they are opened, spirits are  able to pass through these gates or doorways, several at a time.

About  5 years ago, I counseled a very religious man, an Asian who had been  dedicated as a child to Hindu gods, converted as an adult to  Christianity, studying to be a minister in seminary and a member of a  7th day Adventist church. He came to me because he was hearing  condemning, accusatory voices throughout each day.  In counseling we  discovered that “James” was not saved. James has been a long time  practitioner of yoga, a spiritual discipline whose goals are to “open  the 7 gateways.” James’s gateways were wide open. The Lord gave James a  dream, showing him that over each chakra, sat a Hindu deity, aka a  demon–as follows:

1. The crown—Shiva   2. The Third Eye—Hakini  3. the Throat—Savashiva

4. The Heart—Isha  5. the Navel—Vahni 5. 6.The sex organs Vishnu and Rakini,

7. The Anus—Brahma.

During  the  telephone deliverance session, James discerned that scores of  demons were running in and out of each of his gates.  So to stop this, I  had to close the gates by casting out each of the 7 deities. Calling  them by their Hindu names, one by one, they came out roaring, cursing,  screaming and speaking in tongues.  By the way, James had never spoken  in tongues, other than in the  session.

This was a unique  deliverance.  I had never heard of any such thing before or since.  However, after reading what Eric had to say, I will certainly perform  this ritual with others. James was not only delivered of the torment,  but all of his religiosity completely disappeared.

Eric reports  in his book that he has projected himself into the bodies of weak  pastors through the 7th gateway, the anus. When “inside”, he would  evaluate the pastor’s spiritual power through his aura, a feat that Eric  accomplished in two minutes. If the aura is a certain color, then Eric  knows the person is weak in faith. In most cases, the power of the  pastor was weak because of fornication. In his own words, “There are  many men, women, boys and girls who are ravening wolves or agents of  different demons, operating in different churches all over the world.  Women and girls are more in this connection then men. The presence of  such agents in Christian churches will always guide astral spirits on  how to advance their manipulations against Christians.”

According to Eric, the sins that open the 7 gates are:

1. sexual intercourse with a demon in a dream or sex with a prostitute

2. drugs

3. visiting a fortune-teller

4. receiving healing through occult powers

5. reading occult books.

6.  Anger. (By anger, demons transmit certain diseases or sicknesses.  Demons will manipulate people to seek solutions from witches and  occultist—a psychic healer–who himself is an agent of demons in  disguise.

This is no surprise to me. My Deliverance Assessment  Form gleans this kind of information from clients.  What Eric confirms  for me is that human spirits, witches and warlocks, and people skilled  in astral travel can enter into one or more of the 7 gates with their  own spirits, and function as if they were a demon spirit. Now I  understand why the Holy Spirit has often led me to call the spirit by  name—a mother, father, relative, rapist, any human being who has put  my client into bondage. In my deliverance counseling practice, I have had success with not only casting out demons but also casting out human spirits from a captive to a demonic soul tie.

If you have opened any of these 7 gateways, you may need deliverance. Call 518-477-5759.If you decide to stand on your own then you need my book “Faces of the Religious Demon.”

The Role of The Pastor In Endtimes

In my work as a deliverance counselor, I am being put into contact with too many long-term, faithful churchgoers who are practically demon possessed. A few years ago,  this phenomena just did not make sense to me. Simply put, Jesus said that to look at the fruit, one must examine the tree. If the tree is good, then the fruit is good. If the fruit is evil, then the tree must be evil. So based on this simple premise of “you shall know them by their fruit”, why then are faithful churchgoers in so much demonic torment? Good question!!!! After taking a year to study church history, I answer the question in the book “the Fake Jesus: Fallen angels Among Us.”

When I was  a good, sincere pastor in a well-known denomination for 25 years,  to my dismay, I discovered  that those who have been faithful members, followers of my ministry bore no  fruit.Yet as  I counsel as a professional, Christian therapist on a weekly basis, my clients bear MUCH fruit. Why IS that? Someone can come into telephone counseling with me for 6 months to a year and bare ten times more spiritual fruit than some who have faithfully attended my “church” for 5 years, 10 years and 15 years.

It should also be pointed out there were people in my camp that heard countless sermons and teachings. I have known them personally and been an active figure in their lives, yet spiritual fruit in Christ is non-existent. I believe the Holy Spirit has recently given me my answer. Don’t hold on too tightly to your pew or to your pulpit. Here is the simple, yet profound answer. The passive model of church, where the pastor gets up on a platform, gives “a word” after the choir sings, DOES NOT BEAR FRUIT.

To bare real fruit for Christ, each sheep must be individually fed through counsel, guidance, up front and in your face ministry at least one hour a week, one on one. As the babe grows, the contact can be reduced after a year or so. Once the babe is a mature Christian, then he or she can “feed his or her self and then become a worker in the church to feed new babes. One shepherd can feed about 4 sheep a day, 7 days a week, for about 6 months to a year or about 27 people at a time. If the sheep learn quickly, then this would be about 54 babes a year. As a writer and a trainer, I cannot do a full-time job of counseling sheep. Full time pastoring would consists of 6- 8 sheep a a day for six months or a year.

From my personal background and experience, I can clearly see that the denominations are not working and I have grown to a place where I know that unless there is wide scale repentance within the denominational church, they are coming DOWN!!! I also have known for a while now that the devil has been using the non-denominationals and the Christian cults like the Mormons, but I certainly did not fathom the extent of the problem. Whether it be denominations, non-denominations, Christian television or radio, I finally came to terms with the fact  that NONE OF IT IS WORKING!!!!!

Several of my clients have done wrong things— sins of all kinds, witchcraft, incest, you name it but some of my clients have done no wrong. They have lived lives that Christians who are not being tormented by demons should emulate. It is sad to say but there are countless faithful church goers who have been out-and-out deceived by religion and religious people. I can find no excuse to place the blame on the deceived. Today, people are being saved and delivered, one at a time over the telephone. I am available 7 days a week, 4 hours a day allotted to deliverance counseling. But I am only one person. I can only handle 30 clients a week. I am getting closer to the end of my life. I can only make a very small impact. Even if I was a mega preacher, I would not be able to do more than any of the rest of them are doing. So what is the problem? It is the model that we have ALL been using–bringing huge crowds as well as small groups into small and big barns, without repentance, on a “believe and receive” gospel.

Let’s face it and be real here. As a denominational pastor for years, I myself could do absolutely nothing. Yet today, the tide is turning, the Holy Spirit is moving and people are being saved and delivered. My job is very simple. I preach the gospel of repentance and the bodily resurrection of the Lord and the Holy Spirit is moving on hardened hearts to lead people to repent, giving them the faith to believe on Jesus. I am casting out demons—on the telephone, no less–from those who will humble themselves to receive it. This one referenced case has taught me that since the organized church is not working, radio and tv is not working, it would be useless for me to reinvent the wheel cause it wouldn’t work with me either. It hasn’t and it won’t. I don’t know any other models other than working with people one on one. I have been out on the street in street ministry. That DOES work if the basic gospel is being preached and it is not aimed toward bringing people into a church that is going to confuse them.

What I am expecting is that the Lord is going to do a mass thing, around the world, similar to what He did to me and for me. I was an atheist and I was not seeking Him. He came after me in a dream and brought me to the cross without the benefit of man. I was sent to church, not to be nurtured, but that I would understand and perceive the problem and learn what NOT to do about 25 years later. More than two decades of “Church” has not done much for me. As I wrote in the “Come Out of Her, God’s People”, I have remained a root in dry ground. I got a hunger for the word from Kenneth Copeland and others and Joyce Meyer provided some good, solid teaching.

But for the most part, I was attracted to Copeland and the rest of them because they were “supernatural” and my background was in witchcraft. The two were almost an extension of each other and so I found word of faith to be “comfortable”—in other words, charismatic witchcraft. The denominations harmed me in the beginning because they were loose on sin and so until I got grounded on my own and took dominion over my own sin, I fell to carnal ministers. But once I had sexual sin under control, the denominations did not really harm me. They may have hurt my feelings and injured my pride, but they didn’t harm me. They couldn’t harm me because I was saved BEFORE I arrived. Just as the denomination I was in didn’t know the truth, I didn’t know the truth either.

The major point I am making is that the church as it is now operating today is “doing harm” to people who are serious about finding Jesus. For too any churchgoers have contacted me because they were demonized in church!!!  And I shudder at the thought. I KNOW the problem. The problem is 200 years old, starting with evangelist like Charles Finney and others. I thought I KNEW the organizational solution. Once, I thought that the answer was in home fellowships, in spite of the many problems that can affect that also. Home churches run by people who have not been deprogrammed from the effects of religion will simply carry the problems of the organized system into home groups.

You see, I really didn’t realize just how much the devil has penetrated the church. I have faith that God is going to raise up endtime pastors who are equipped to feed the sheep and who are empowered to protect them from religious demons. I am simply  praying, “Lord, this battle is YOURS and I don’t have a clue as to how you plan to deal with it. You have revealed a portion of  MY part in it.  Just “cause me to be ready.”

How To Resist the Devil

HOW TO RESIST THE DEVIL

The Lord has cut me down so often in 30 years, that I myself am not used to being well received. So quite the opposite, I have been humbled by those of you who have so graciously embraced each book, article and blogpost  with such eagerness, affection and appreciation. Some of you have written and even spoken to me personally, expressing how much my publications have meant to you and for that, I rejoice.

Nevertheless, it is very important for us all to realize that other than for witchcraft, works of the flesh are not “cast out.” Even those demons that specialize in witchcraft have different names. So for the most part, works of the flesh are “put off” or “pulled down” but not “cast out.” The truth is that an ambitious, jealous person needs his or her flesh crucified through the brokenness of repentance and the fires of refinement. This is the work of “deliverance counseling.” As a therapist, one of my strategies is to cause both the saved and the unsaved to examine and understand the nature of their particular ” flesh style”. Why? Well, because demons take advantage of the flesh to mobilize their own agenda.

Consequently, knowing ourselves better than the demons know us is a primary step to resisting the devil. When the Apostle Paul admonishes us to humble ourselves, he gives us the first step to resisting the enemy.

to do so, we must try our own spirits to understand the nature of our own particular needs of the flesh. The truth received will crush that need or in other words, “crucify our flesh.!” One of the greatest revelations that I have discovered out of years of the 5 “T”S of testing, temptation, trial, tribulation and trouble is that “we are never as advanced as we believe ourselves to be.”For many believers have hidden strongholds. Each stronghold will create a specific fear or doubt as well as an accompanying pride system that will be difficult to break through.  Christians so bound, will often attribute their strongholds to demons, when in actuality, casting out a demon will not bring any lasting relief.  This is because the stronghold is embedded in the captive’s personality and is therefore a stronghold in the soul.  In cases where there has been little to no personality change, it will seem as though deliverance has failed when in reality, the root of the problem was not so much demonic as it was “soulical.”Casting out demons may bring a momentary sense of freedom or joy.  Even so, a substantial, solid deliverance is one where the fruit of  true meekness has been planted and nurtured.

Since meekness is the doorway to blessing, any captive in need of deliverance must become poor in spirit. (Matthew 5) To be poor in spirit is to be emptied of one’s character defects.  Deliverance will empty the captive from demons, but these demons and others will ultimately return if the conditions that provided them a safe haven still remain.  Therefore, my job as a bearer of the word of God is to seek the help of the Holy Spirit to sensitize a conscience that has been hardened by the pride of life.    Meekness is manifested when the captive comes to the realization that his thoughts are not as high as the Lord’s thoughts, nor his ways higher than the Lord’s ways. I do not cast out demons from people whom God has not humbled. I can recognize them.  They wander from one deliverance worker to another.  When they get to ME, they want to instruct me as to what THEY believe their problems are, what demons they have, how the demons should be cast out, etc. etc. etc.  I say “Good bye!”

Continual brokenness before the Lord Jesus Christ will  sustained you with a simple, yet a profound truth and it is this. “Whatever does not originate in your inward parts—in your spirit—will not bring you life.” In this regard, I have learned through personal experience that false or counterfeit spirituality may appear to produce a beneficial result but it cannot grant authentic, lasting,  resurrection life. I have entered into the Lord’s rest because I myself have labored by the revelation of the Holy Ghost. No more vain strivings for success according to man’s standards.  If I speak no more for the remainder of my life, I will remain satisfied. For with the”THE NEW IDOLATRY, I believe that I have declared more than a mouthful.

The Religious Spirit Rules the Organized Church

by Pam Sheppard

Holy Week at Santhome Basilica, Chennai (HDR)

What I am finding in my counseling practice with Christians, is that churchgoers who are reporting that they are being tormented by demons DID NOT REALLY GET SAVED WHEN THEY THOUGHT THAT THEY DID!!!!! Besides not understanding repentance in a fullness, I believe that what some professing Christians miss is that a resurrected body is the same body that died,—- the original body that has been made new or “renovated.” A glorified body is never subject to death again.

Lazarus was raised from the dead in his “same” body but his body was not glorified because he would die again. Lazarus was not raised immortal. Ola was the first client that manifested this problem. For a year, I did not realize that Ola did not understand this concept. When people say “Jesus was raised from the dead,” those who don’t understand are just repeating a memorized phrase that they have accepted. But when you go deeper, those who have been made confused by word of faith teaching will say “Oh, Jesus had a glorified body which means He had a new body.” I ask them “Well what happened to the old body?” Some will say “it was buried, it decomposed, it floated away with his spirit, “I don’t know”or just “it disappeared in some supernatural way, like the work of a magician who pulls a rabbit out of a hat!”

The root of the problem is that they have misunderstand the scripture in Corinthians which says “it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body, and there is a spiritual body.” I cor 15:44. What they don’t understand is that a natural body is physical and a spiritual body is material as well. A natural body is subject to death. A spiritual body is not. A natural body when dead will decompose or be “corruptible.” A spiritual body is raised “incorruptible.” It will never decay. That is the difference between the two.

So when I ask the key question, “was Jesus raised as a physical body or was He raised as a spirit, the response will be “He was raised as a spirit.” In spite of the fact that Jesus showed his original yet glorified body to Thomas and said to him “a spirit does not have flesh and bone as I have”, they STILL miss it. A crucial error that will determine where they abide in eternity.

I didn’t write this.. Paul did. It is in I Cor 15:17: And if Christ is not risen, your faith is vain (futile) AND YOU ARE STILL IN YOUR SINS. To still be in your sins is to “not be saved or born again.” So if you don’t understand what resurrection means, then how can you believe that “Jesus was risen?” So the logical conclusion is that anyone who does not understand resurrection but came to the Jesus of their understanding IS NOT SAVED!

As both a servant of God and a professional Christian counselor, I really thought that when people said “He is risen,” that they understood what that meant.

Thirty-four years ago when I myself was unsaved, I understood resurrection because I had no concept at all of what a spirit was. I was all flesh: a two-part being of mind and body. So since I didn’t have an understanding of what the word “spirit” meant, I was never confused into thinking that “to be raised” meant to float away as a spirit. All I knew about resurrection was what I had seen in the movies or heard at Easter. I laughed at this. I said “Christians must think that people are stupid. It is very clear to me that when you are dead you are DEAD and there is no coming back to life.”

On the day that I got born again in my living room, faith to believe that Jesus came back to life in the same body that He died in at the cross literally burst through my mind and I was in a state of shock. After I repented for being a sinner, the resurrection flashed into my mind immediately. Once I went to church and became a minister, I didn’t think that what happened to me was supposed to happen to everyone that got saved, even after I read “confess the Lord Jesus with your mouth AND BELIEVE IN YOUR HEART THAT HE WAS RAISED FROM THE DEAD! The Greek word for “heart” is “cardia.” Cardia means “the mind, the emotions, the thoughts and the feelings.” The spiritual heart is a part of the human soul.

Once I explain the resurrection to MOST of my clients who have been confused, none become saved prior to dealing with the issues of being set free from demons. In some cases, the religious demon is so entrenched in the person, that it must be cast out first so that the person can believe in the resurrection. This was the case of Minister Kennedy back in 2001. Practically EVERYTHING that she did that was under the power of a religious demon—a familiar spirit, a spirit of divination: preach, praise the Lord, prophecy, speak in tongues, discern spirits and see into the spirit world, was entirely counterfeited by the religious demon that resides in her. God waited 5 years to save her. Out of 200 cases, Ola is the only one I know for sure is born again.

When you trace their alleged conversion to Christ back to the original source by skillful asking questions during the plowing stage of counseling, the source of the problem is almost always uncovered. For example, when some of my clients came to Christ, they came for the wrong reasons under strange/demonic circumstances. Religious demons “specialize.” There are some who want to do religious things, just like the Pharisees and the Sadducees of Jesus day.Remember the words of the Lord to them?” He said “You will tithe even something as small as a mint. Yet you are like whitewashed tombs, clean on the outside but filled with dead men’s bones. Your are of your Father, the devil. Vipers. A viper is a snake, the snake representing counterfeit religion.

Someone posed the following question to me in an email : if a person is operating off of only what they know and have been taught, won’t the Lord make an exception? Wouldn’t that be another “specific” example? In other words, if someone sincerely repents, loves the Lord, and accepts Him as their Savior, and they die before they have been TAUGHT and DISCIPLED, wouldn’t the Lord take that into consideration? Afterall, HE KNOWS THE HEARTS OF MEN, and we don’t, RIGHT?”

This is the exact situation that each and every one of my clients have found themselves in. The Lord has made an exception in each of their cases. He has seen to it that they DO NOT DIE before they have been un-deceived through counseling. Teaching and discipling is a part of the counseling process. The Lord has taken each client’s plight into consideration, by first opening my eyes and instructing me on how to recognize the deception, and how to counsel, teach and disciple him or her. Some have fallen under the category of II Cor 4:3,4: For if our gospel be hid or veiled, it is hid to those who are lost, whose minds the god of this world has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, which  is the image of God, should shine on them. So I will have to cast out the religious demon first, BEFORE the client can be saved.

If I look at this problem from carnal eyes, then I could get discouraged. I can only handle 30 clients at a time and it takes from 3 months to a year per client. So I continue to train other ministers “to do what I do.”  I just don’t question God about what He is doing for these kinds of captives. I simply DO MY PART which seems so small that it appears non-existent when you consider how many professing Christians may have already been deceived. God does His part. For example, every one of my clients have had a dream that led them to me or they were surfing the web and found me.

People seeking Christ through the ministry of those who are preaching “another gospel” and presenting “another Jesus” in churches of all kinds and with folk who stay home and watch TBN are becoming mentally, spiritually and even physically bound. People are picking up religious demons at pentecostal altars, where they have been “tarrying” or “chanting” to receive the Holy Ghost and to speak with other tongues. Some clients ended up with absolutely no control over their bodies. Those I couldn’t help refused to even consider that they were not saved. Once the Pentecostals got a grip on them and they “manifested” the speaking in a tongues, they became super spiritual. Inch by inch, the demons took over. The demons spoke through several clients, using their bodies to do various things. .You can read more on this in my book “Faces of the Religious Demon.”

In a strange case of a client I call “Carol.” Carol is unique because she is obedient, compliant, coherent and willing to do anything to be delivered, which was not the case with others. I see no real fault in her as I have seen in some of the others. She was simply watching TV, responded to a sinner’s prayer through a Mormon sponsored program, then began to feed off of the teachings of mega TV preachers and was guided to a mega church by a vision that was demonically inspired.

As it stands, I work with those that I can, and I plant a seed into those that I cannot help, and pray that the Lord will direct them to true, informed Christians who will nurture and water that seed. For those who refuse to hear, I let them fire me and I shake the dust from my feet and move on to the next captive.

Passivity and the Christian Zombie Part 2

Passivity and the Christian Zombie: A Desire to Be Heard

I  have encountered many professing Christians who speak “the love walk” with a forked tongue, whose hearts are deceived concerning what divine love actually is. The world can see through the hollowness of such people and sinners are not attracted to the Lord by a phony, self-righteous witness. Consider Maria, mentioned in Part 1 of Passivity and the Christian Zombie.

In my estimation, Maria is a classic example of a “Zombie for Christ.” One reason is because Zombies always try to minimize deliverance and spiritual warfare ministries. In one of her emails, she accused me of being possessed by a demon that I have never heard of, identified as “the spirit of wrong focus.”Maria explained that the “demon of wrong focus” causes watchmen like myself to be an “accuser of the brethren.” She also stated that all she has to do is focus on the cross, pray for the “misguided” false prophets and trust God to deal with the devil FOR her. People who say “amen” to Maria are in danger of perishing for a lack of knowledge primarily because they underestimate the wiles of the enemy.

Another sign of a Christian zombie is their passive-aggressive hidden desire “to be heard.” I can relate. I can remember that while I was in the denomination, for years I longed “to be heard” to no avail. I was often overlooked. Actually,a particular bishop purposefully and wilfully blocked my ministry, and rightly so. Even though he was operating out of his flesh in his strong dislike of me, I look pass this man’s human nature and I perceive today “that it was the Lord’s doing.” For if I had not been blocked, then the seduction of a receptive audience would have been a major stumbling-block for me, deadly to my particular calling as a prophetic watchman.  If I  had remained in the denomination,I was in bondage to too many levels of authority. The Lord warned me that I would never be more than a candle hidden under a defiled bed if I submitted myself to yet another denominational bishop or regional director.

Continually frustrated, disappointed and aggravated by denominational favoritism, I realize TODAY that I was truly blessed NOT to be have been embraced by the church hierarchy. The irony is that while I believed that my charismatic gifts to minister and my level of spiritual growth and understanding far surpassed that of the other denominational ministers, I myself was deceived. On the contrary, without the restraint of God, my charismatic leanings could have put countless sheep in an unprotected spiritual danger much more than ministries without power could have done. My spiritual error was just “different” from my denominational colleagues— but error, none the less!!

To resist the religious demon, admitting to error is essential to freedom.  Most remain bound because of pride.  If you suffer from always having to be spiritually correct, there is help for you.  Call 518-477-5759 to make an appt for a telephone counseling session.

Passivity and the Christian Zombie

Passivity and the Christian Zombie

Have you ever been cussed out, Christian style?

I had a true test  in my email interactions with a reader that I will call “Maria.” Maria’s first email contact was relatively positive.  On the surface, it seemed that her intent was to merely apprise me that she and I have much in common in our backgrounds, and that she too believes that the prosperity gospel is coming down. I didn’t notice at first but it seems she wanted me to publish her articles on my website.

Touch a sacred cow, and a Christian Zombie goes ballistic!!!

I am a bit obtuse when people are not direct. However, I was truly amazed as well and somewhat concerned that Maria also wrote that she STILL feeds from the spiritual tables of Benny Hinn, Kenneth Copeland and Creflo Dollar, calling them “brothers that need prayer.”Not wanting to belittle Maria’s prayer life, I really tried to be as “low-key,” as “laid back” as I myself can be, not expecting her extremely argumentative, defensive response. In her last email , Maria finally stated what she wanted to write in her first email, ie. that I am an “unloving accuser of the brethren.” Yet, in keeping with the passivity of “a Christian Zombie,” her hidden attitude was concealed until she could stand me no longer, and then all hell broke loose!!!!

Finally, like a hissing snake she “cussed me out” Christian style. I was very brief and simple in my few responses so as not to stir up my own flesh, for actually, I was really not offended by her. So I tried to jest, keeping things light, remarking with “You would find a way to defend Judas Iscariot.” She did not catch the humor, nor did she glean the meaning behind the humor.A common trait of those oppressed by a religious demon is that they tend to have no humor. Simply put, as Christian zombies they are so “spiritual” that they are of no earthly good. Captives of this kind also rebel against any chastisement or correction with tongue in cheek counterattacks of your being “unloving” and therefore, you are not a real Christian.

Yet zombies on the offensive usually pay no attention to the fact that the scriptures also declare that God Himself chastises and corrects those He loves. When He does chastise and correct, He often does so through elders and other saints. I personally believe that the epitome of love is to tell someone liberating truth without belittling or shaming them. Truth that convicts rather than condemns. Of course, we are out to win the brethren and not to inflame them by provoking them to wrath. Certainly it is true that God so loved the world, yet He did not save Judas from perdition. As for me, I am in accord with Jesus Christ of Nazareth, who, when appropriate, didn’t mind calling “a snake, a snake!” It is not wise to feed from the spiritual table of vipers. Maria’s emails continued to be abrupt, condescending and argumentative. Then there came a point when she realized that the tone of her emails was not “Christ-like”, so she emailed me again, with a rather defensive apology.

The ” Christian zombie” thing for me to do was to passively accept her apology and stop the email war. True, but “I am not a Christian zombie!  It was clear to me that Maria’s apology was based on her fear of facing her own persona—ie. that her “Christ like” image of herself was in jeopardy. To feed into her own self-delusion would not be helpful. I have found that Christians who are constantly apologizing for being “who they are” “doing what they want to do” and saying “what they meant to say,” generally are in bondage to obeying the word by the letter of the law rather than by the spirit. Since they are very “image conscious”, they worry that they may be perceived as unloving or unmannerly and therein “not Christ-like”.

I view excessive demonstrations of this kind of anxiety as being a victim to the 3 false “p.s” THAT WHEN EXCESSIVE, CAUSES THEM TO BE a 4th “p” known as “PHONY”: The 3 p’s are: PIETY, PRETENSE, AND PRIDE. Walking in the “false p”s of self-righteousness is yet another trademark of Christian zombies.

Religious spirits aka demons take advantage of passivity of this kind.  My book, Faces of the Religious Demon will enlighten you further on this subject and others, particularly  how a religious demon manifests in countless ways.  You are also welcome to call 518-477-5759 to set up a telephone counseling session.

Casting Out Demons in a Congregation

What you should notice in this video.

1. Demons are manifesting among the women only.

2. The preacher declares that those involved are delivered, without mentioning the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

3. The demonic manifestations appear “sexual.”

4. Everyone is welled dressed, coming to church to see demons manifest.

5. Do you think these demons are gone?  I don’t!

An excerpt from “the New Idolatry:”

Yet another dangerous practice of deliverance workers is the Mass Deliverance Service.
