The Charismatic Movement of Today, Was Started Yesterday

AN EXCERPT FROM  THE BOOK,  THE NEW IDOLATRY

Click cover for ebook

Unfortunately, the Pentecostals and Charismatics who claim that they are word people rarely ever study history.  A part of rightly dividing the word of God is to interpret its meaning in accordant with the most relevant historical perspective.  Nevertheless, those who submit to charismatic witchcraft preachers are taught to randomly select scriptures out of context.  To discern the signs of the times, we need to understand what went on yesterday, particularly about a century ago.

It was a century ago that the seeds of charismatic witchcraft as manifested today were originally planted in the early 20th century.  No different in the early 1900’s, the movement emphasized supernatural manifestations, spectacular crowds in the midst of deception, delusion and confusion.  The speaking in tongues came to the forefront through the ministries of two men, considered the fathers of Caucasian and African-American Pentecostalism: Charles Parham of Topeka, Kansas, and Parham’s black student, William Seymore.  Seymore is credited as the leader of the Azusa Street revival in Los Angeles while Parham is the first to teach that tongues is the initial evidence of the baptism in the Holy Ghost, a dangerous false doctrine that has filtered through the Charismatic/Pentecostal religion for more than a century.[1]

A contemporary of both Parham and Seymore, Jessie Penn Lewis, a prominent leader of the Welsh revival, warned about this false doctrine in her book, “Soul and Spirit”, —a warning that was clearly ignored both yesterday and today:”

“Again, in connection with the seeking of ‘manifestations’ as an evidence of a believer having received the ‘baptism of the Spirit,’ methods have been used to bring these about, that synchronize with methods of mesmerism, and thus counterfeits have broken into the true Church of Christ.  In other cases, believers have had a true influx of the Holy Spirit into their human spirit, and then through ignorance, they have developed the psychic power latent in the human frame, and brought about mixture in their own life and service for God, eg. If a chorus is sung over and over again, they can bring a meeting into a psychic condition, when those present become incapable of intelligent thinking, or any decisive action of will.  Thus, on a flood tide of psychic force in the world today, the demons are carrying out their plans and purposes.[2]

Other charismatic leaders passed the baton from one decade to another, introducing an ever-increasing plethora of esoteric teachings in what is labeled as “moves of God”.  By the 1970’s, authoritarianism was widespread through the predominant influence of what is referred to as the Shepherding/Discipleship Movement.

The domination and control of the sheep for the hidden motive of self-aggrandizement of various church leaders paved the way to the suppression of God’s people through the teaching called “spiritual covering” and the rise of what is called the Apostolic Movement. Connected to the “fivefold ministry” teaching which dictates the ultimate power of the apostles, over the other ministry gifts and the church at large,   the apostolic perspective  presumes that apostles and bishops have the power to provide what is referred to as “spiritual covering” to all ministers and all church members.

Implicit to spiritual covering is the false teaching that God’s people cannot trust their own spiritual discernment or judgment for even the most mundane issues of life, defying the scripture where the Apostle John wrote that we all have an unction from the Holy Ghost, and as such, we need no man to teach us. ( I John 2:27)    )    Consequently, domination, manipulation and control are intrinsically built into charismatic oversight–an open door for the sheep to be spiritually abused in their dependent reliance upon obtaining permission from appointed elders about practically every aspect of their lives.

I created a name for those who have come under the spell of the Charismatic Movement.  I call it “charismania.”  Eventually, you will need someone to cast out  religious demons from you.  Perhaps you are fine right now.  Nevertheless, when your day of torment comes, it will hit you like a ton of bricks.  So jot down this number.  I won’t change it, in anticipation of your call. 518-477-5759

Spiiritual Covering Is a Lie From the Devil!

By Ola Cruz

Spiritual covering! Have you heard about it? Do you need it ?  What is spiritual covering? Are you one of those who were sent…or are you one of those who just went, minus a spiritual covering? Whose your spiritual daddy? Whose your spiritual Mama? What about an apostolic covering, do you have one of those? Please don’t answer, because there’s no such thing as a spiritual covering.

Spiritual Covering Fallacy

Charismatic churches, and churches in general, seemed to have latched on to yet another fallacy, yet another  unscriptural doctrine of demons. The laying on of hands is not something to be toyed with. Didn’t the apostle Paul say we are to touch no man suddenly? So why is the organized church, scampering about, in a hurry to lay hands on those they say they are about to launch into ministry? Why would a spiritual Papa or a spiritual Mama need to lauch you out to tell people about Jesus? Jesus said to spread the Gospel to the nations. Jesus never said we were to wait on a spiritual father or mother for permission.

Since when do we need a permission slip to share our testimony, or share the Gospel? The notion that ones needs a spiritual covering, sounds like demonic controls to me. Sounds like manipulations akin to witchcraft to me. What about you? So then the Gospel that calls us by our faith, to share the message of Christ has been twisted yet again.

All of a sudden, you have to wait for approval, for something Christ already said we should do. You better not go, unless you were sent. Sent by who? Sent by someone who wishes you to submit to them, rather than submit to God. The spiritual cove

ring doctrine is responsible for a myriad of criminal behaviors in church. Wasn’t it a spiritual Daddy who was accused of some heineous acts? Do you know the story? Even if you don’t, our father is God.

We don’t want to go the other extreme into lone rangerhood either. We don’t want to be off in a corner by ourselves, refusing authority and teachings which are God sent. Spiritual coverings are unscriptural, but so is being a lone ranger  who refuses correction. Were their any lone disciples in the New Testament? Did God ever say that a time would come when disciples would stand alone to be taught, solely by him?
Some people, are sure that the organized church is the ” Her” spoken of in Revelations 18:4. Some people agree with the Sheppard’s Publishing stance. Sheppard’s Publishing views the organized church as the harlot we must all exodus from. Unfortunately, those who agree, agree only to a point. They  fall into error, by believing that God will now speak directly to them. The lone ranger pastor has lost his way, and is headed for deep deception.
I am in an independent ministry yet t I am guided, supported  and taught by Pam Sheppard ministries.  I submit to this ministry in love because a relationship of trust has been established.  No one tries to “rule” over me, nor am I required to give tithes and offerings to be a disciple. I have the power to question PSM in doctrine and in practice. Yes,  I am free to come and go as the Lord leads ME without anyone’s “permission”, knowing that Pam Sheppard Ministries has  my back. Pam Sheppard, an ordained minister for 30 years— treats her ministerial associates as equals, regardless of age, spiritual maturity or background.  No authoritarian abuse with her. I provide accountability without being asked or required.
A back-up of love is a precious pearl in the Body of Christ.. An affiliation with Pam Sheppard Ministries has broken my bondage  of trying to serve the Lord under abusive authoritarian leaders. If the Lord has called you to a ministry outside of church walls, you will not be able to find a more understanding yet powerful ministry for this season. Deliverance From Church Addiction

DELIVERANCE FROM CHURCH ADDICTION: An Excerpt from “Come out of Her, God’s People.” by Pam Sheppard

Deliverance from church is no easy feat because Church attendance can evolve into an addiction.  Once you get hooked, you need to be “detoxed.”  As substance abusers go into a 28-day detox to “get clean,” church addicts need to stay out of church for at least 28-30 days.  As creatures of habit, I have found that any addiction can be physically broken in that time period. Even so, once the 28 day fast is completed, the addiction in the soul is yet another story.  The mind, the heart and the emotions must be renewed and for that, a drug addict will go into either a 90 day out-patient facility or a 6 months residential program.

So too with the church addict.  From 90 days to 6 months, perhaps a year, the church addict’s mind must be re-trained.  False doctrines and practices  that the churchgoer has believed in  for decades must be challenged so that the soul can be renewed.  As God Himself has compared false worship to prostitution or whoredom , I am not out of line in making a similar comparison.  A church addiction can be compared to “good sex” with someone you know does not really love you.  Simply put, you get hooked to the thrill and the feeling.  Those of us who have never “been there and done that” wonder what the thrill is for a masochist.  Masochism from a psychiatric perspective is defined as a condition in which sexual gratification depends on suffering, physical pain and humiliation gained from despair, deprivation, and degradation.  The perpetrator can be others or it can be self-inflicted. Unfortunately, masochists are known to find pleasure in self-denial and emotional pain.

I can relate on a spiritual level because sexual masochism is like self-imposed  martyrdom.  For example, it is not a part of my normal  personality  to tolerate a lack of regard or disrespect from anyone, yet I passively allowed myself to be frequently humiliated over a 25 year span by ignorant church bishops, elders and members who would have been of no consequence to me in the world. It is actually  in my  carnal nature to chew up the meat and spit out the bones of  folk like this.  But in the church, I allowed these abusers to ascend themselves over me  with their spiritual feet in my back, tacitly enduring  their verbal abuse and complete disregard of my personhood, over and over again.

Why? Because I ignorantly assumed that I was “suffering for Christ.”  Notwithstanding, like a spiritual masochist, a sensual, carnal thrill was obtainable through believing that I was more righteous than they because I was faithfully  doing God’s will.  What a shock to find out after more than two decades, that “God never sent me there for ANY reason.” He simply used what the enemy meant for evil for my personal and spiritual good, so that I could be used by Him to help others “help themselves!” Nevertheless,  as one who was “addicted,” I never wanted to leave that Whore  on my own so God made HER  PUT ME OUT!!!!

Ignorant of my own emotional condition, I foolishly  submitted myself to  the spiritual abuse that those I pastored inflicted upon me.  Whatever they needed, I was there for them. I spent quality time with most of them–shopping, vacations and other outings, cooking for them, you name it. I was at the jails, hospitals, homes.  I was a devoted pastor, never controlling or demanding with anyone.  I even came from behind the pulpit and taught them as Jesus did.  Yet none of my efforts bore any fruit in them  for Jesus Christ.

The irony is that the devil used those I pastored in three different churches to try to cause me to change my definition of the word “pastor”.   Religious devils used church members  to try to beat me down with discouragement by causing them to treat me  with a lack of appreciation, regard and respect. In other words, I was not loved.  For some time, I thought it was because I am “not a man.”  I have seen men revered who were known to be homosexuals, abusers of all kinds.  But my gender was not the cause. The only distinction between me and them was that I was not raised in church and I came to know Jesus Christ outside of church walls.

As I reflect, I do not recall that I ever really  pastored those who were truly saved.  Even when I started my own church in 1996, I  remained abused by people who actually  chose to follow me.  Yet, as I remember each one of them, I see no fruit for Jesus Christ. In spite of the fact that  I preached a powerful message, the word fell on ground that “was not good.”

Why?  There is a simple answer, taken straight from the Lord’s own lips.  When folk are serving two masters, they end up hating one and loving the other. Therefore their hatred of me was not “personal.”  It was scriptural and it was prophetic.   The sheep I served  were serving two masters.  Since I belong to Christ,  I was despised. Therefore, it is understandable to me now, that  it was not God who called me to ministry while I was in the Denomination. I could be wrong but I don’t believe that  God  would  call anyone of His to serve Him  within such a filthy, corrupt system.

Once I embraced this truth, I realized that my situation can be compared to the first predicament of His servant Moses.  While he was in Egypt, Moses tried to help his own people but  he failed.  It was not until he was forced out of Egypt into the wilderness, that God prepared him for ministry.   In like manner today,  I believe that to be used by God effectively, one has to actually leave the organized church.

How To Know Your Enemy in Endtimes

How to Know Your Enemy In Endtimes

In the perilous, deceptive times in which we live, we  ALL face a serious human dilemma relative to a need for belonging, acceptance and sociability that challenges our commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ and our fulfillment of what He has called us to do.  The truth is that built into the human frame is a  desire to be liked, accepted  as well as approved of.

We  seek to fulfill that innate need through people pleasing.

I watched a movie written and directed by Lawrence Fishburne   that graphically makes my point.  Called “Once In the  Life” with two of my favorite actors—-  Fishburne and Eamonn Walker as the main characters,— these two men  played the part of  the closest of  friends  from “back in the day.” In fact, they  had  developed an intimate alliance from having shared the same prison cell when they had been jailed  for the crimes they had committed   as street hoodlums.  “In the life” is a colloquial phrase  used by pimps and prostitutes, gamblers and those who “do what they do” behind closed doors and in the darkness of night in unsavory places.

Once these two were released from prison, Fishburne counted on that friendship to his own destruction, for Walker had lied to him and said that he had left the life of dope dealing and crime. In fact, Walker’s character  was sent to kill Fishburne  for a  dope deal gone bad and Fishburne gullibly dropped his defenses, not believing that his best friend would  be the one to kill him.  Walker not only shot Fishburne while they were in an embrace, he poured gasoline all over the hideout and burned it down along with  Fishburne’s dead body.

The point of the movie is in its title.  “Once IN the life,” there is no getting OUT!  Like the mafia,  life in the underworld is a precarious  place  where even your best friends can  become your worst enemies.  The Lord Jesus Christ has spoken to His elect in like manner:

“AND A MAN’S FOES SHALL BE THEY OF HIS OWN HOUSEHOLD!”         (Matt 10:36)

How does this scripture  play out today among Christians?  What I have discoverd from personal experience is that some who may fundamentally agree with your position and  even your beliefs can still be your  worst enemies because they refuse to face the truth themselves.

Not to waste time is truly an important accomplishment for I must work while it is day, for when my night comes, my work will be over.  Recently a  professing Christian came into my life  that I could have wasted loads of precious time on because “we agreed on ALL of the essentials doctrines.

We agreed that the age of the organized church is over.   The enemy also sent someone with a confirming sign that I did not buy into.  It was quite an uncanny sign that was suppose to confirm that this particular “friend” was sent by God to assist me in the work that I am called to. Even though I grew to care for this person,  I did not allow my emotion or a need for a friend  to override my commonsense. In this particular case ,  Satan was more clever than I am used to.  With a tongue full of flattery,  and a feigned commitment, this “friend”  appeared to understand my  ministerial work and calling  better than anyone had done in 30 years.  Yet it took less than 3 months for the enemy to be exposed. The Satanic agenda was to bring about   such  disappointment and confusion, as well as  to actually turn others against me by lifting me up—by “selling” me  to others way too  profusely. In fact, my faithful friends were getting turned off  by my “frienemy’s “hard sell” of me to them. Then when the axe of rejection  was suddenly dropped upon me, I was supposed  to become so grieved that I would “give up” the message and become despondent.

Disappointed, I certainly was. However, the message IN me is as clear and as strong as it ever was. I  remain centered and on task.  For I have long given up the notion that I need anyone but the Holy Ghost to either exalt or abase me.

This is the key.  If you put the truth in the face of those around you without fear of rejection from those you care about, their reaction will expose “what you need to see and to know ABOUT THEM!!!.”  And you will redeem your time WITHOUT INCURRING EMOTIONAL  ABUSE OR SPIRITUAL DAMAGE.

Below find the issues  that those who are stuck on being accepted are facing from an anonymous author”

“Saints cannot participate in most of that which is offered by the churches. Participation with the events of most churches (or even the goals and membership requirements) violate their covenant with Jesus. The dilemma of the saints in 2011 is where can they fellowship?

Those who truly hear the Spirit will be grieved. Or like Lot, they will be vexed in their spirits with most of what is offered in the religious buffet served up today. Because of loneliness, some have compromised and re-entered the religious playground. The majority of emails and letters I receive are from those who have been dislodged in various religious circles and have nothing in common with the milieu of today. When they have tried to re-enter the congregations, they do so as spectators who are often looked upon as “outcasts.”

Some, after being awakened, rationalize their desire to stay “churched.” They claim that “God wants me to remain and be a witness.” How can this be? God said “Come ye OUT from among them and be separate.” Besides, I believe very few of them rise up in meetings or elsewhere and declare openly the errors they encounter.

Reformation simply is Not Going to Happen! Reform of the masses of congregations is not on God’s agenda. It wasn’t in Jesus’ day, nor is it in our own. Nowhere in the New Testament account of Jesus’ ministry is there found one trace of evidence He believed the Temple would experience reform or revival. The same is today! STOP TRYING!”

These are not my words but they certainly COULD BE!

My testimony of how I  overcame authoritarian spiritual abuse is described in Come Out of Her, God’s People.

Watchman Nee on “Spiritual Authority”

In his book entitled “Spiritual Authority”, Watchman Nee describes how a true leader of God should exercise authority. He writes “Authority is established by God’therefore, no delegated authority need try to secure His authority.  Do not insist that others listen to you.  If they err, let them err; if they do not submit, let them be insubordinate; if they insist on going their own way, let them go.  A delegated authority ought not strive with men.  Why should I demand a hearing if I am not God’s established authority?  On the other hand, if I am set up by God, need I fear lest men not submit?  Whoever refuses to hear me, disobeys God.  It is not needful for me to force people to listen. God is my support, why then should I fear?  We should never say so much as one word on behalf of our authority,  rather, let us give people their liberty.  The more God entrusts to us, the more liberty we grant to people.  Those who are thirsty after the Lord will come to us.  It is most defiling to speak on behalf of our own authority or to try to establish authority ourselves.”
(pg. 121)

Jesus declared that true authority comes from servitude.  In other words, a true leader is a servant to the people and not a demagogue or a despotic tyrant.  Most leaders who try to rule over the people are doing so based upon the weaknesses and insecurities hidden within their own personalities. Such leaders will desire to have control over others as well as over himself.  He wants nothing to happen that he has not initiated or approved of.

This quest for control may on one hand preach freedom, yet on the other hand insist on knowing and controlling everything. Such a person wants to be right all of the time and is very irritated when found to be wrong, even in regards to insignificant things.  For example, when confronted with a question he does now know the answer to, he will pretend to know. He also always strives to have his own way.  Any kind of delay, any enforced waiting, any difference of perspective  will become a source of irritation.  As a counselor, I try to  arm the captive with this sort of information about themselves  so that they will make sound judgments in choosing whom they will allow to lead them spiritually in the future. As a ministerial servant, I don’t demand anything from anybody—not money and certainly not loyalty. I resist pride by not allowing ANYONE to place me on a pedestal. It is the tendency of people with religions demons  to enjoy targeting Christian leaders to receive the brunt of their own transference issues with abusive  parents.  Once a person with a religious demon is disappointed or damaged, he or she  can be ruthless and relentless in personal attacks of erring,  human   leaders whom the sheep  themselves pushed off of their own self- designed pedestals.

From a personal perspective, I used to be a pastor in the organized church for 20 of my 30 years in ministry.  I pastored congregations of three different churches—-two I was appointed to by a bishop and one I started myself and led for 12 years. I learned a great deal from those experiences.  When people are not saved, they will rebel at any provocation. As long as they are stroked and complimented, all is well, and the leader can do no wrong. I try to be sensitive to people’s feelings.  However, there are many in church who suffer from mental health disorders, including but not limited to borderline personality disorder, paranoia, and narcissistic personality disorder. It is my leadership style  not  to strive with people. In fact, recognizing that I am not wrestling with flesh and blood, I do not enter  into battle with the Lord’s sheep. I let them attack me before I would retaliate and attack them. I have  forgotten several horror stories of the personal  abuse I sustained at the hands of the sheep–people who called themselves “Christian.”The truth is that they were not true believers but imposters.

We have but ONE litmus test.  It is the test of love.  Love is what sustains us. Not human, emotional love but our love for Jesus Christ of Nazareth.  I don’t need 3 months or 30 years to love a true Christian. When my spirit bears witness with the Holy Ghost and I KNOW in my spirit that a person is a child of God, I need no evidence of loyalty or a personal commitment to ME!!! When I am in the presence of a true Christian, I don’t have to make a lot of effort at relationship building.  I love them immediately, no holes barred. I don’t care how much we disagree or whether or not our personalities clash. If they love the true Jesus,  I love them, un-conditionally.

I have lived more than 3 decades of  my life as a servant.  However, if a pretender, a hypocrite is exposed up close and personal, I am no one to play with, so I warn folk not to take my Christian kindness for weakness.  If  you do not walk in love, you are barking up the wrong tree when you fool with me, Devil!

Religious demons have many faces. Some will come with flattery and appear to be helping you when inwardly, they are unloving, ravenous wolves. I call these kinds of  people  a Judas spirit, the spirit of the Anti-Christ.  To know more, you need my book “Faces of the Religious Demon.”

SPIRITUAL COVERING IS ANOTHER NOT SO TENDER DEMONIC TRAP

Spiritual covering is yet another doctrine of demons that puts God’s people in bondage by taking one scripture out of its natural context and forming a teaching that brainwashes and hoodwinks those who submit to it.

When people try to control you, you are going to react in one of a few ways. You are either going to give in and acquiesce, give up and pretend that “all is well, ” when deep down, you are really seething inside.  This is a dangerous reaction because your inner rage will eat away at your health.

Now if you are like me, you are going to resist. The bible says that rebellion is like the sin of witchcraft. True—-if it is God that you are rebelling against. However, if religious pretenders and hypocrites try to throw what they call a spiritual covering over you, rebellion is good, but running is even better!.

As a minister in an authoritarian bureaucracy ruled globally by just 12 bishops, I watched and experienced how the traditions of men made the word of God of none effect. In certain denominations and even in the charismatic movement, bishops rule the pastors under their authority like holier than thou puppet masters. In the denominations, the power and control of the Bishops lie in their ability to appoint pastors and fill pulpits. Any pastor in full time ministry is totally dependent upon whether or not the Bishop chooses to favor them with an appointment to a church  that will be lucrative enough to financially provide for himself and his family. In the non-denominations, What you have is a clique based upon popularity.  If the bishop is a mega preacher of 25,000 members or so, then the money must first flow to the bishop—the man or woman of God FIRST, with a slow trickle effect of money rolling down to the most obedient, the most compliant, those who suck up and kiss “royal behinds.”

The denominational  “spiritual covering” net entrapped me for 25 years. Since spiritual covering is really about money,  those who “cover,” desire to be paid by YOUR hard earned cash for their “blessing” that trickles down to you in slow, tediously slow  drops.  In my particular situation, I was not well liked by bishops because I had a full time secular career. As such, I could not be placed under any Bishop’s thumb in order to survive financially. So my punishment was that I was appointed to those churches  that could not afford to pay a full time pastor’s salary—churches that no pastor without a secular job could survive serving. In most cases in such a system, the pastors’ primary objective is to protect his own power base and therefore, their interactions with the Bishops are usually characterized by subservience, flattery, subtle manipulation and “out and out” lies.

The irony is that in the denominational set up,  the Bishops are dependent on the ministers they rule to advise them since the Bishops don’t usually live in the communities that they oversee. So a bishop  needs his ministers to tell him the truth. However, a Bishop’s ministerial advisors are so threatened by him financially speaking,  that one lie begets yet another lie and the entire leadership system operates on a foundation of lies, cover-ups and pretenses. With Satan being the father of lies, no wonder the devil has a seat in such a religious/political system.

Within a complex bureaucratic hierarchy as I have described, sin spreads like leaven from top leadership in a circular, downward fall, then in an upward spiral. As the root of such a system is rotten, the deception within charismatic, non-denominational systems spreads far beyond just a few pastors or a handful of ministries. Ministers and laypersons within a charismatic system alarmingly and systematically mimic the same key people. Leaders watch and imitate well-known leaders as they pass on the same false teachings.I personally have moved beyond correcting either system by any attempt on my part to fix it.

In my ministry, I work with associates.  My associates are my equals. Everyone of my associates is valued because  they are valuable.   They work with me and help me because the Holy Spirit has revealed to them that I am both a lover of truth and of freedom.  If somebody RULES over you in ministry, you need to know tha you are not serving the One who died to set the captives free, but rather you are serving false gods And, if you cannot recognize and admit to yourself that your beloved church or ministry, or pastor  is practicing, unbiblical and ungodly doctrines and practices, then you are definitely brainwashed and under the spell of “deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons” and these demonic lies are “seared in your own conscience as with a branding iron” (1 Tim. 4:1,2). And, that means you need deliverance to be set free from Satan’s bondage and deception. It also means you are deceived about who you are serving. You are not serving the true Jesus, but the Fake One, who is the master of idols — which is idolatry, which means you are an “idolater,” and idolaters do not inherit eternal life or have an inheritance in the Kingdom of Christ and God (Gal. 5:20,21; Eph. 5:5)!

So RUN from your captors and RUSH out of the arms of the Fake Jesus Sananda Immanuel into the arms of the True Jesus Christ of Nazareth, who died and was raised from the dead to set the captives FREE! “He whom the Son sets FREE is FREE INDEED!

Here is the deal. The bottom line. Anytime you come away from a corporate experience with demons attacking you, you need to “book.” To “book” is to hit the road Jack, and don’t cha come back no mo, no mo and no mo!  Sing along with the late Ray Charles and “hit the road, Jack, and don’t cha come back no mo, no mo, no mo, no mo!!. Hit the road Jack, and don’t cha come back no mo!!!!!.” What you say?”Yeh! Now sing it again before you submit yourself to their demons.

Sheppard’s Counseling Center provides training to ministers who have left the organized church, from 3 months, to 6 months, to a year in a unique deliverance mentoring model called Spiritual Empowerment Workshop or the SEW Program. Training is oral and by telephone  for those who are in full-time jobs. For others, training modules are written and  with video lessons, assignments, on the job training, OJT with pay, done on-line. Some remain with SCC and become affiliates and associates. Others go and do their own thing.  We don’t try to control or rule over anybody.  If you are interested, call 518-477-5759 or send an email to pamsheppard911@yahoo.com .

ARE YOU A VICTIM OF SPIRITUAL ABUSE?

Truth Brings Healing. I Am Fully Healed!

The term “spiritual abuse,” is a relatively recent expression  coined to describe the damage inflicted upon the sheep by and in the organized church. Simply put, spiritual abuse results when a spiritual leader or system that controls, manipulates or dominates a person with its traditions, doctrines and practices. The key to this kind of abuse is that it is authoritarian in nature.  In other words, the perpetrator of spiritual abuse has either legal, spiritual or pastoral authority over the victim.   In such cases, several demons conjoin together to seriously damage a human spirit.

Dr, Steven Lambert has coined a similar phrase called “charismatic captivation.”  I like the term, but I don’t use it because I know that spiritual abuse is quite active in traditional denominations and is not just “charismatic” in nature.  However, I like what Lambert writes in his 11/15/08 newsletter entitled “the Myth of Spiritual Covering:

Moreover, in the process of time, it is going to become very apparent that the specter of authoritarian abuse and licentiousness perpetrated by wayward spiritual leaders is far more prevalent than what has ever been recognized before. Likewise, it will become just as manifest that the subject matter of this book — the heretical Discipleship doctrines, which are concerned primarily with false and fallacious concepts of spiritual authority — has been a primary underlying premise for much of the authoritarian abuse that has taken place among Charismatic/Discipleship churches and groups especially.

The root-cause of the Discipleship heresy is the “spirit of error” (1 john 4:6)  which is a spirit of perversion, and the “spirit of error,” unchecked, will eventually lead to a multiplicity of perversions in virtually every facet of the person’s life in which this demon and its cohorts are manifest. In the process of time this spirit will manifest perversion, corruption, and convolution in the inhabitee’s spirituality and every aspect and attitude indigenous to their natural life: their morality, marriage, ministry, message, methods, motives, and monetary matters.

In respect to this type of authoritarian abuse, one thing that needs to be pointed out, however, is that it is not just individuals who have been victimized by this spiritually lethal perverse spirit, but so also has the collective Body of Christ, in that Satan has been sowing these weeds of heresy and tares of heretics in God’s Field, thereby polluting and severely denigrating its produce, which was precisely his objective.

For 25 years, I served in ministry under the authoritarian abuse and licentiousness of  two different bishops and several elders. I  am quite strong but I must admit that I too was once a wounded healer whom the Lord has completely delivered, once He led me out of the organized church. My scars came from the root of bitterness and anger that resulted from constant primarily  rejection.  You see, because I refused to blend in with my peers, I was rejected from childhood that carried over into adulthood, for the mere reason that I am not a people pleaser, and I refuse to back down.

Consequently, when I arrived at the organized church in 1979, I was “different.” In the world when I was not saved, I was a retaliator.  People KNEW not to mess with me.  My wrath would be felt by my enemies because it is the nature of my flesh to plot and scheme until I had destroyed them. My pleasure came from getting right in my enemy’s face  and boast, “Gotcha!” Once saved, and having to come to terms with the fact that vengence belongs to the Lord, my soul and spirit did a lot of struggling.  So when I got to the organized church, folk really didn’t know how much restraining I was doing. So I became severely abused by people who profess to be Christian, both  bishops, ministers and the sheep I myself pastored. In fact,  I was more disrespected and humiliated by professing Christians than by any enemy who I was ever in battle with in the world.  The spiritual struggle  I endured by not retaliating against them was quite intense, to say the least. The reason why I was damaged by  was because God had never sent me to the church in the first place, so my spiritual  abuse was actually self inflicted. I was sent by the devil to the organize church to be spiritually abuse, rendered useless, and then destroyed. I have the victory for the enemy was unsuccessful.

Even though the Lord did not send me there, He allowed it to happen because I needed to discover first hands the depth of the Babylonian systems depravity so that I can help others in times like these. So while on “my mission,” God saw to it that I was not accepted by protecting  me from the comfort that leads to compromise. I now understand why  professing Christian churchgoers rejected me as much as they did.  You see,  they felt my inner strength and my fearlessness before I even know how strong I really am and they became anxious and intimidated.  Some label this quality as spiritual fortitude, or simply “courage.” All I know is that people actually feel my inner power and they are often intimidated by it, causing them to reject me.

I’ve learned not to take it personal because  rejection is a part of the business that I am in.  Like Jesus was about His Father’s business , I am about my Lord and Savior’s business. He was and still is rejected. Therefore,  that is my plight also. When rejected actually DID  HURT me as “spiritual abuse” from religious authority , I accept it as my own fault. To move forward in ministry,  I submitted myself to inferior tyrants,  the denomination’s bishops and elders.  I allowed them to  restrain me  from serving God my own way. As a result,  the unholy authority of the “spiritual covering” false doctine and practice  smothered and oppressed my spirit. The Holy Ghost spoke to  me in a dream and warned me  that if I did not come out of the organized church, He could not use me.

So if you are a victim of spiritual  abuse, you need to know that  God will not heal the damaged so that they can remain under the exact same authority figures that damaged them in the first place. You will have to “come out of Her” to be healed. It will take a little time to heal, and that is what our  SEW Deliverance Mentoring Program is all about.  Our ministers are all wounded healers, those who have come out of the fires of refinement, prepared to rescue others.  If you would like a minister to mentor YOU, call 518-477-5759 or visit www.pamsheppardpublishing.com/deliverance-mentoring

My personal story is in the first few chapters of my book “Come Out of Her, God’s People.” In the book, I explain in detail why the dominational churches are diseased, depraved and dead and why the non-denominational-charismatics are deluded, deceived and headed for destruction. I tell my own story in the first seven chapters, followed my such subjects as Strong Delusion, the Plagues of Idolatry, the Altered State of Consciousness, Satan’s Agenda, God’s Plan and “Free at Last.”
